In the northwestern corner of Washington, near the metropolis of Seattle, sits the quiet town of Snohomish. Founded in 1858, this Pacific Northwest town was originally established to serve as an outpost for the American military during a conflict with British forces in British Columbia, Canada. After the conflict, Snohomish continued to grow and thrive as a trading spot and a hub for agricultural development. The peaceful environment that the town exudes today is what attracts visitors of the Puget Sound region to the town, thus making it an ideal place to rent an RV.

The roads of Snohomish, especially downtown, may be on the smaller side so driving your RV rental in Snohomish may not be the easiest thing in the world. The good news is that Snohomish County has something called Community Transit. With 46 routes, you will easily be able to get from point A to point B and anywhere in between.

Snohomish is a town with an antique feel that is proud of its history, no matter how many versions of that history there may be. When you book an RV in Snohomish, you’ll find a wonderful place to explore and spend the day as well as have a landing spot during your Pacific Northwest adventures. It’ll make you wonder why you haven’t secured an RV rental in Snohomish sooner.

Discover Snohomish

The Great Outdoors

Known for its temperate rainforests and towering coniferous forests, the state of Washington is filled with mystical locales ready for energetic and excited adventurers ready to explore.

Probably one of Washington’s most renowned natural sites is the breathtaking Puget Sound. Luckily enough for those looking to spend some time adventuring around Snohomish, Puget Sound is just a jump to the west. You can sit on the shores and watch the water roll by, rent a sailboat or kayak and explore the waters, or even jump aboard a wildlife tour and see if you don’t get lucky and spot some orcas or seals playing in the waves.

If you want to see some of the most dramatic and sharp peaks of the Rocky Mountains, then turn your Snohomish RV rental just east toward Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. You can go on a day hike around some of the foothills or challenge yourself with a hike up one of the mountains. You can challenge yourself even further with a multi-day backpacking excursion that’ll lead you over mountains and through valleys and along lakeshores.

If you’re looking for something a little less rigorous, Olympic National Park has miles upon miles of trails you can hike to see some of the most breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and tree lines. The hikes up the mountain faces aren’t as steep as those at Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, but there are still enough challenging trails to keep your heart rate up. You can also enjoy tidepooling along the shoreline and find some truly beautiful sea anemones and other little critters.

RV Parks

After your day of hiking and climbing mountain faces, you’re going to need to find a place to park your Snohomish rental RV for the night so you can rest up for another full day of expeditions in the Pacific Northwest. There aren’t a lot of options right in town, but if you expand the search a bit, there are a variety of nice spots to park the camper rental near Snohomish.

Flowing Lake Park at Leckie’s Beach is in Flowing Lake County Park, about seven miles northeast of town. RV sites are available here, and most offer hookups for electricity and water. There is a boat ramp and lake access with a beach and swimming area within the park.

Head just east of town and stay near the Skykomish River at the Thunderbird RV & Camping Resort. Here, you will have electrical hookups, laundry facilities, WiFi, and shower and bathroom facilities. In addition to these amenities, you’ll have a lot of additional activities to choose from, such as volleyball, mini golf, and a swimming pool. You may need to add an extra day to your itinerary just to fully experience everything the resort has to offer.

Exploring the City

After all of the mountain climbing and whale watching you’ve taken part in, you might want to explore the “Antique Capital of the Pacific Northwest”. The perfect place to do this is in historic downtown Snohomish. You can go window shopping through the various antique stores and try to find that unique item that perfectly sums up your Snohomish RV rental by owner expedition. You can even pepper in visits to breweries, local restaurants, and maybe you’ll be lucky and there will be one of the many Snohomish street festivals going on.

The Blackman House Museum, one of the oldest homes in Snohomish, is perfectly preserved and encapsulates Snohomish history. You’ll be able to learn about the town’s history and the history of the Blackman family and how they helped shape the local community.

After days filled with hiking and antique shopping, you’re going to need to refuel and there’s no better way to do that then indulging in some freshly brewed coffee and pastries or some fresh and locally caught salmon or trout.
