The town of Taylors lies just fifteen minutes outside the bustling metropolitan area of Greenville and around half an hour from Spartanburg. It’s one of the metro area’s largest suburbs, and a popular place to live for those wanting to avoid the traffic and more hectic lifestyle of the city. It also serves as a buffer zone between Greenville and the nearby city of Greer– home of automaker BMW’s U.S. manufacturing operations.

Choosing a Taylors motorhome rental will allow you to explore this fascinating section of the southeastern United States while still having all the comforts of home. South Carolina is a great place to explore at your own pace, and a Taylors RV rental by owner lets you do just that.

RV Parks near Taylors

The tourist potential of Greenville combined with the suburban location makes it the perfect place for camping with a Taylors RV rental. Rainbow RV Park is only minutes from the downtown area and has over a hundred sites with full hookups. The park is within walking distance of a couple of grocery stores if you need to pick up any necessities.

Another good option is Flowermill RV Park, three miles to the north. Sites have full hookups and access to the nearby sandy beach. Creekside RV Park is about eleven minutes to the east on Highway 29 on the other side of Greer. It’s a fairly small park with only 40 sites, but it has full hookups, laundry facilities, and a dump station for your Taylors travel trailer rental.

If you’ve forgotten anything for your Taylors RV rental adventure, there’s a Walmart just a few miles down the road in the town of Wade Hamptons. There’s also two supermarkets if you’re just looking to pick up some groceries. You’ll want to plan your fuel stops when you book an RV in Taylors, as the nearest truck stop is the Pilot Travel Center in Duncan, twenty minutes away on I-85. This isn’t the most convenient location, but it’s a lot less hassle to fuel up at the larger bays and they have a dump station if there’s not one at your campground.

Exploring the Town of Taylors

If you’re looking for some culture, the Peace Center in nearby Greenville is the arts hub of the region. Broadway musicals, independent films and documentaries, along with the local symphony all find an audience here. There’s also the Bob Jones University Museum and Gallery, which has one of the largest collections of religious artwork outside the Vatican. The museum is in the process of moving, so be sure to check their website for hours and their current location in the Greenville area.

The Logos Theater is another interesting venue to see some live action drama in Taylors. The intimate performance center puts on several productions each year ranging from biblical stories to children’s musicals, all very professionally done.

If finding great shopping is on your Taylors RV rental itinerary, check out the Haywood Mall, which has all the major brands you’d expect, along with a delicious food court to enjoy after all that walking around. Smaller boutique shops can be found in downtown Greenville and window-shopping through them is an excellent way to spend an afternoon.

Getting Outside near Taylors

Paris Mountain State Park is one of the most popular places to enjoy nature near Taylors, with several miles of hiking trails and a small pond with peddle boats for rent near the park’s visitor’s center. Despite its proximity to Greenville, it doesn’t feel like you’re anywhere near an urban center. There’s also Runway Park at GMU, an aviation-themed park and playground adjacent to Greenville Downtown Airport. The walking path “runways” are dotted with signs explaining the jargon and symbols used in aviation and some of the playground equipment is designed to look like small planes.

Another place to enjoy the great outdoors is Falls Park on the Reedy in Greenville. The 32-acre park is close to the historic West End district and is built over a former textile mill site. The most popular feature in the park is the Liberty Bridge, a 355-foot suspension bridge with cables on one side to permit unobstructed views of the park’s waterfalls.

Two hours to the southeast of Taylors is Congaree National Park, one of the few parks on the eastern seaboard. Having only been created in 2003, it is also one of the newest national parks. Hiking, kayaking, and fishing are all popular activities here, but one of the park’s most unique activities is seeing the synchronous fireflies at the end of May or early in June. The month-long display of synchronized flashing is part of the insects’ mating ritual and can only be seen at three locations in the western hemisphere.

All in all, Taylors makes for a great place to rent an RV. Book your favorite rental and start exploring South Carolina today.
