He was told that the only thing he would find in one of them was a tombstone, so he named that mine, and consequently the city, just that.

Tombstone was the location of the infamous O.K. Corral shootings and it is possible to visit the very spot where they took place. Every day you can witness a re-enactment of the gunfight performed by mannequins that will show you the location of the participants as recorded by Wyatt Earp. The outlaws who died in the dispute were buried along with many other perpetrators in the Boothill Graveyard. Its name is a reference to the fact that many of the men died with their boots on, and it’s such a popular attraction that some graves have been falsely marked in order to get more visitors. The graveyard even has its own gift shop.
