South of Houston by the Gulf of Mexico, you can book an RV in Van Vleck, Texas and have the vacation of a lifetime. This enchanting suburb of Bay City was first settled back in the 1830s by Bailey Hardeman who would die of a fever a year later. For years, this tiny town was nothing but a post office in the middle of nowhere, until the Texas & New Orleans Railroad laid tracks through town, making it an official stop along the line. Due to this favorable occurrence, the town was named after W.G. Van Vleck, the railroad official and superintendent responsible for choosing the path of the newly created railway.
Van Vleck is as peaceful as it is pretty, oozing charm in nearly every way imaginable. You can bring your Van Vleck camper rental to the stunning shores of Texas, or head off on a tour of the state’s biggest cities, like nearby Houston, Austin, or San Antonio.
