Not too far from there, you can check out Rocky Creek Conservation Area, spread over 38,000 acres. This area is another great spot for camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and so much more, with springs, caves, and a variety of environments to explore. You could also head out to the Gist Ranch Conservation Area to spend some time relaxing in the wilderness. Here you can try many of the same activities, along with a shooting range.

RV Parks

There are a few places to park the travel trailer rental near West Plains. Road Runner RV Park can be found right off of Highway 63 between Pomona and West Plains. At this quiet 22-acre spot, you‘ll have access to water and electrical hookups in addition to activities like disc golf, fishing, and hiking the nature trails.

Explore the City

You don’t have to stick to the outdoors when you rent an RV near West Plains, as there is plenty more to keep you busy. Stopping by the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center might be the best way to get acclimated with the area. There are maps and brochures to help you find all the major landmarks. There you can learn a little about the history and culture of the area so you can decide between a day exploring the historic downtown or seeing the art at the Civic Center.

When you book a camper rental in West Lake, a trip to the historic downtown area will allow you to check out architecture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As you stroll around the Courthouse Square Historic District, you can check out local gems likes the opera house dating back to 1886, also known as “The Jewel of the Square.” Make sure you also visit the antique store where you can explore a ton of history. Over 22,000 square feet give way to around 70 booths so you can take a deep dive into the past.

You can head to a few local brewing companies to try out the local suds and also hang out and enjoy some great American cuisine. Then you can visit the Harlin Museum to observe the art and history of the area. You can check out interesting exhibits like a traditional buckboard wagon complete with the harness and saddle. Plenty of memorabilia from World War I and the American Civil War can also be found here.
