About this space
Yosemite Shuteye is as it sounds; a most private out-of-the-way delight of two parts - the yurt connected by cedar decking to a hand-hewn cookhouse with an airy 3/4-bath and a fully stocked kitchen. A seasonal fire pit is a favorite place to star gaze and eat smores to your hearts content. Quiet and very comfortable.
The space is yours and yours alone. NOT shared!
**We do sanitize ALL handles and hard surfaces between guests. Our place is sparkling clean as many of our reviews indicate! The space
The Yurt sits under a canopy of black oak and ponderosa pine a stone's throw from a seasonal creek. Deer, raccoons, gray squirrels, mountain jays, quail, wild turkeys and ravens - all call Shuteye home. A quiet secluded deck with a day bed and a beautiful wooden bar make evenings and mornings a delight. Everything is sparkling clean and artsy. The bed linens and towels are air dried in our fresh mountain breeze.
Guest access
The six-acre mountain property in the Sierra foothills is a wonderland of trees and rock.
Other things to note
We do Covid cleaning guidelines. The linens are dried in the mountain fresh air. A clean and fresh smell you can never capture in a dryer. Yum !
Our dogs name is Bru . He’s a good boy but he will steal your shoes because he likes to play chase so keep an eye out!
What's includedWe love the circular feeling the yurt provides. It just feels different that a square room. The skylight provides beautiful natural light and you can peek out from under the comfort of air dried linens to possibly see shooting stars from the immense comfort of the bed!
A well stocked kitchen provides all you need for great home cooked meals. The outside cook station makes all food taste better. Dine with the humming birds at the pine slab bar. Nature abounds in many forms, birds, squirrels, deer, raccoons, turkeys and the occasional bear!
RecommendationsThere is incredible hiking and site seeing in Yosemite National park, but if you want to stay away from the tourist draws, check out the hundreds of miles of high country roads. Swim in creeks, lakes and reseviors. Try your luck and fishing and mountain bike single track and fire roads. There is boating nearby. Kayaking and canoeing is available at Bass Lake which is a stones throw away...well, 4 miles!
Finally, the yurt is a great place to relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine while watching the sun dip down below the horizon line.
