About Zak Klein

My name is Zak. My spouse Hannah and I traded our overpriced studio in San Francisco for a car payment on this Sportsmobile-converted sprinter 5 yrs ago. One of our best decisions ever. Our van's nickname is Sparkle and she has vanity plates reading "SPARQLE". I'm a career outdoor educator and current entrepreneur working in video/photo, digital marketing and trails advocacy. Hannah works in non-profit as well, serving as director of a foundation focused on linking human wellness to ecosystem health and vice versa. When we set out in Jan 2014, we established a goal to try to summit the highest point in all 50 states. We have completed all except Alask's Denali after a close call in June 2017. We're all about the human-nature connection, hiking, biking, backpacking, mountaineering and travel, hence the rig and the lifestyle.

Zak was fantastic. When our original booking canceled on us 12 hours before departure, Zak was super responsive and was able to get us on the road, saving our trip. Michael, who got us situated in the van, was incredibly helpful and patient, walking us through all the ins and outs of how things work. Can't thank them enough.

I have rented a few camper vans before and this is about as good as it gets, and it's a great value. The engine runs great, very powerful in those steep hills and the space is very efficiently laid out with lots of storage space all conveniently accessible. Having a microwave is a nice plus too. Both the popup and the pull out seat are very comfortable to sleep in, and I am a very light sleeper so that means a lot. The features take a little getting used to but Mike did a great job in doing the onboarding - make sure you allow enough time for that and you'll get a lot more out of it. I would definitely rent again.

We had a great time In Sparqle. Good head room with top an bed up though it took a little practice to get the sequence of latches and such down. Our only issue was that the double bed is in the upper loft and requires a step ladder or good upper body strength to get in and out of. It was a little challenging for my 64yr old somewhat creaky body. Our trip was a blast though and really enjoyed this vehicle and the way it was outfitted.

Our family had a wonderful trip driving and camping all over California this summer. My 3 boys (ages 10, 8 and 4) and myself fit comfortably in the van. I’ve never driven a van this size but it was easy to handle right away and the pop up bed was also great. Communication while we were on the road was great when I had any questions about the van. This is a very comfortable way to travel without the bulk of an rv and the delivery and pickup aspect was So convenient. I highly recommend a road trip like this.

Zak and Mike were excellent communicators and made everything very easy for us to pick up the van and drop off. This was a new service to us and I wasn't sure how it would work out. The van showed up next to our house and it was better than how it looked in the photos! We got a full tour of the van and learned about the water pump, power, stereo, cooking, and the popup tent. Everything was well organized and there are lots of pots and pans to cook with.

We had an amazing trip through the Tahoe National Forest with SPARQLE! Great experience picking up, dropping off, communicating, and just all around. Lovely van with so much space, it was everything we needed and more.

This was a great experience. The Sprinter is easy to drive and very comfortable. Booking, Pick-up, and Delivery, were easy. This is an easy way to access camping or glamping without having to purchase a Sprinter.
