Outdoorsy Bayfield – The Gateway to the San Juans

Perfectly positioned on Hwy 160 between the energy of Durango and the relaxation of Pagosa Springs.

Rafting, kayaking, and more

From a relaxing paddle to a thrilling whitewater rafting trip, there are plenty of ways to explore the area by water. That includes boating at nearby Vallecito Lake.

Private Fishing

Skip the public crowds. Cast into our private, trout-stocked stretches of the Pine River. No license is required on-property—just walk out of your tent and start your morning.

Steam-powered train

Take a trip back in time aboard the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. It’s the perfect way to take in the area’s rugged mountain terrain — 1800s style.

Hiking

Basecamp with us to explore the ancient cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde. After a day of world-class history and hiking, our riverside fire pits are the perfect place to recharge.

Mountain biking

From easy to extremely difficult, the nearby mountain biking trails will test your skills and endurance. If e-bikes are your thing, you can do that, too (we rent them).

Adventure tours

From the shoreline of Vallecito Lake to the rugged backcountry of the San Juan National Forest, we put you minutes away from premier hiking, mountain biking, and ATV trails.
