Adventuredome

Located at Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas, Adventuredome offers an indoor amusement park experience plus nearby camping on the Vegas Strip.

Event information

Located at the Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Adventuredome offers one very unique amenity for RV travelers: camping on the famous Las Vegas Strip. That’s right, you can actually park your RV on the same stretch of road that’s home to the Bellagio Fountains, nightclubs, poker tournaments, and Cirque du Soleil shows. It’s a bit of a strange experience that exemplifies the “Only in Vegas” ethos that has made Sin City so legendary.

Neon camping experience aside, Adventuredome at Circus Circus is an amusement park that’s located indoors, making it an enjoyable experience even on the hottest of Las Vegas summer days. The five-acre attraction dazzles with rollercoaster rides, old-fashioned midway games, clown shows, an arcade, 4-D movie screenings, and laser tag.

Younger children can ride special junior rides and adults can try spinning, thrill-seeking rides. The adjoining casino is home to restaurants, bars, slot machines, and classic Vegas kitsch.

After visiting Adventuredome, RV travelers can explore the natural wonders around Las Vegas. Check out nearby wilderness sites like Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, and Valley of Fire or drive to southwest national parks including the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Death Valley. In addition to enjoying carnival fun, a visit to Adventuredome is a great jumping-off point to any Las Vegas vacation.

Tickets

Tickets to Adventuredome can be purchased online in advance or at the venue. Buy an all-day pass for adults 48 inches or taller for about $40 or choose a children’s pass for those under 48 inches tall. Discounts are available for military members and Nevada residents. Some premium rides, attractions, and experiences may incur a separate fee.

Transportation

Driving

The Adventuredome inside Circus Circus lies on the far north end of the Las Vegas Strip, so far north, it’s almost in Downtown Las Vegas. This position on the Strip makes it much easier to get to in an RV than other more centrally-located (and therefore more crowded) properties. Avoid driving directly on Las Vegas Boulevard and look for back entrances to the RV park if camping overnight.

Parking areas

Unlike many Las Vegas casinos, Circus Circus still offers free self-parking—though valet costs $14 to 16 depending on how long you stay. Oversized vehicles such as RVs are not allowed to park in the parking garage, but may park in the RV area for $20 per day. Staying at the RV park allows you to avoid paying this fee, and the campground is located walking distance from Adventuredome.

Public Transportation

Public transportation is widely available in many forms throughout Las Vegas. You can park your RV at the RV area at Circus Circus and avoid the hassle of navigating the Strip in a large vehicle by using the local bus system, hailing a cab, using a rideshare service, or taking advantage of bike rental programs and shuttles.

Where to stay

Onsite

The RV park at Circus Circus is one of the strangest (in a good way) camping experiences you’ll ever have. Located just steps from the Adventuredome, this RV park offers 170 sites with full hookups plus a dump station, laundry room, pool, hot tub, playground, and pet run. The main feature of this Nevada RV park is, of course, its location right on the Las Vegas Strip.

Nearby

If you are looking for a nearby campground within Las Vegas, head east of the Strip, where you will find a number of RV parks. Some Las Vegas RV Parks cater to long-term residents, so ask if overnight rates are available before heading over for an evening. Prefer a more natural camping experience? You’ll find lakeside RV camping just a half-hour away at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, plus other RV camping options, including those in developed campgrounds and boondocking in the desert.

Getting around

Whether you park or camp overnight at the RV park at Circus Circus, you can easily walk to the Adventuredome. The venue is pretty sizable, and the adjoining casino is even larger, so wear comfortable shoes and plan on plenty of walking. During the day, consider sturdy soles to keep sidewalk heat from reaching the soles of your feet through your summer shoes. If you wish to head to other Strip destinations on foot, you will likely walk several miles, as the Strip is 4.2 miles long. Visitors often find this is also the best way to see the lights and street shows between activities.

What to pack

Clothing

The Adventuredome is an indoor destination, so you might be comfortable in whatever clothing you choose to wear while riding the rides, but keep in mind that the weather outside in Las Vegas can be ungracious. If visiting in the summer, pack loose, light clothing for hot, sunny days. If visiting in the winter, bring a warm coat, hat, and gloves.

Regardless of the season, pack layers, as nighttime temperatures are always cooler than daytime temperatures. Lastly, comfortable shoes are an absolute must, both for the Adventuredome and other Las Vegas adventures.

Gear

Bring gear according to which campground you choose and what activities you plan to enjoy. At the RV park at Circus Circus, you may have patio space that’s perfect for camp chairs and outdoor cooking. If you’re camping in a more rustic environment, pack flashlights and garbage bags for packing out your trash. Other suggested supplies include cash (casino ATM fees are notoriously high), a portable cell phone charger, and extra blankets for cool desert nights.

Health & Safety

The desert is very dry, so bring plenty of drinking water plus a reusable water bottle. Sunscreen is also highly recommended, even in the winter. Some visitors who are sensitive to sunshine even bring umbrellas to protect themselves from the rays. Bring toiletries, hygiene products, and prescriptions that may be difficult to replenish while on the road.

Where to eat

Cooking

RV cooking options vary based on which Las Vegas RV campground you choose. Travelers will find a number of grocery stores plus camping supply stores in Las Vegas. Most of these are away from the Strip, so it may be easiest to plan your purchases before arriving if you prefer not to move your Class A or large motorhome. Restrictions on fuel and fire will be determined by campground location and the risk of wildfires.

Restaurants

Las Vegas is an incredible destination for foodies, so if you like to dine out, come hungry. At the Adventuredome and Circus Circus, you will find a wealth of dining options ranging from high-end steakhouses to carnival-style concession fare. Head to Downtown Las Vegas for gastropubs and craft cocktails or hit the Strip for Vegas buffets and celebrity chef-driven restaurants. You’ll also find food trucks, chain restaurants, and just about every type of fast food you can imagine. Hawaiian food is also a popular option here.

Vendors

Food vendors at Adventuredome typically include quick-service options doling out snacks and treats. You may want to head into the casino for a broader range of options, or look to another nearby property if you can’t find what you’re craving at Circus Circus. Most vendors accept credit cards, but bring cash just in case, and expect some options to be pricey.

Safety

Security

Adventuredome relies on the same security team that Circus Circus uses. Expect to see security guards and a police presence if an event brings crowds to the venue. You may be asked to open your bag or go through a security screening, and you may be escorted off-site or prohibited from riding rides if you or anyone in your party is intoxicated.

Weather

Las Vegas weather is characterized by extremes. Summer temperatures can soar above 110 degrees while winter temperatures can dip into the 40s. Fall and spring bring the most pleasant weather. Gusts of wind are common in the spring and possible in the winter. Rain is rare, but when it occurs can lead to flash floods in Nevada.

Medical

EMS staff may be present at Adventuredome, but most medical emergencies will result in outside responders being called (response time is typically very fast). There are a number of hospitals close to Circus Circus as well as walk-in clinics throughout the city. Pharmacies are also widely available across Las Vegas. Basic over-the-counter pharmacy items can be purchased in casino gift shops for convenience.
