Event information

The Brevard Renaissance Fair celebrates education, imagination, and the arts and is held on four consecutive weekends in the mid-winter months. RV campers can expect to spend memorable times with their families, friends, and the other fellow guests amidst a medieval renaissance village setting.

Everything in the renaissance village is crafted to take you back in time. Guests will witness actors in period costumes, medieval games, and crafts. You can enjoy more than a hundred different performances on several stages and will be constantly surrounded by artisans in the natural beauty of Wickham Park woods.

The fair is organized in the Wickham Amphitheatre inside Wickham Park, an amazing public county park located in Melbourne, Florida. You’ll find most of the modern amenities and recreational facilities inside the park which will help you make the most of the festival. Brevard Renaissance Fair also promises endless shopping fun; you can shop for beautiful handcrafted items directly from the artisans themselves.

Tickets

You can get admission tickets to the fair online as well as offline from the ticket window at the festival gate. Guests are required to present online tickets at the gate when they arrive at the venue. Entry tickets are usually priced between $10 to $100. Transportation

Driving

Brevard Renaissance Fair is held in the Wickham Park in the City of Melbourne in Florida. The venue is 57 miles away from Orlando, 113 miles from Tampa, and 128 miles away from Saint Petersburg. Those driving from Miami will be driving over 162 miles while those coming in from Jacksonville can expect to drive 287 miles. Guests who are driving to the festival may contact the festival staff for assistance with the directions as local routes may be preferable over those recommended by a GPS. Remember to also check the current road conditions with Florida 511 before you leave.

Parking areas

There is a huge paid parking area for Wickham Park right outside the fair venue. Guests can park their vehicles in the designated parking lot as per the regulations of the park management. If you’re arriving in your RV, the festival does not directly arrange RV camping, but you will find such facilities in the Wickham Park campgrounds.

Public Transportation

If you’re not able to attend the fair with your RV or vehicle, you might consider one of the public transport options in the city. There are a number of local bus and shuttle services available in Melbourne. You’ll also be able to use one of the taxi service providers to take you to the festival site.

Where to stay

Onsite

The Brevard Renaissance Fair management does not arrange onsite camping for the guests. There are no camping passes available. However, Wickham Park, the venue for the fair, is spread across 391 acres and provides 133 campsites with water, electric, and sewer hookups for the guests. You will need to make separate arrangments to stay at Wickham Park, but the convenience would be worth considering.

You will also be able to benefit from a number of recreational opportunities on the campgrounds including access to the golf courses, local restaurants, Atlantic ocean beaches, and natural lakes. There is even an archery range, dog park, horse trails, amphitheater, fishing ponds, volleyball courts, and playgrounds.

Nearby

If you do not wish to stay on one of the onsite campgrounds in Wickham Park, you will find several other options within a radius of three miles from the festival venue. It is best to arrive with your RV’s water tank full in case you find a beautiful isolated spot you wish to stay during the Brevard Renaissance Fair.

Getting around

You may find yourself walking around quite a bit, so do not forget to pack in a pair of good shoes. It’s also a great idea to wear comfortable sneakers throughout the event. There’s so much going on that you’ll find it best to plan your day beforehand. Once you’ve enjoyed your time at the festival, there are also several other activities you can take up in this area, including bicycle trails in the natural surroundings or a visit to the pristine beaches.

Clothing

The weather might present several surprises during the event in Central Florida. You might experience humidity one moment only to welcome the cool breezes and showers in the next few minutes. Gear

The festival does not place any restrictions on the use of electronic gadgets, professional cameras, and speakers provided these do not breach the fair norms. You can enjoy your musical instruments, but the use of amplifiers is not permitted. Personal generators are not allowed inside the venue. The festival also observes quiet time every night.

Health & Safety

As soon as you step in, you’ll be greeted by the lush green woods, and it’s thus a great idea to bring sunscreen and insect repellant for this outdoor venue. A number of water booths are located on the fairground, but you always keep a water bottle handy with you to stay hydrated. The Brevard Renaissance Fair does not allow any outside food and beverages inside the fairgrounds. Wood and ground fires are not permitted in the grounds and inside the park. The campground only permits the use of chemical logs, propane, and charcoal as burning material.

Security

The festival prohibits the use of illegal drugs and underage drinking inside the campus. No outside and alcoholic beverages are allowed inside the fair village. Guests are encouraged to contact the festival volunteers or the security cell in the event of any emergency. Any weapons must be peace-tied with their sharp edges covered. The use of firearms is not allowed.

Weather

Florida weather can be quite unpredictable during the winter months, but the Brevard Renaissance Fair continues rain or shine.
