Located outside the Santa Clara Valley, the park is accessible to a variety of campers. A little over 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles, access the campground by exiting interstate 5 at Hughes Lake Road. If you’re traveling in your RV from Ventura, it’s an estimated 50 miles to Castaic Lake via Highway 126 and Interstate 5. Great for an easy stopover or a extended vacation, the park is not too far from nearby towns in case you need to restock on camping supplies. Once you arrive to the park, stop at the Visitor Center to check-in for your reservation and grab a park map.
There is an entrance fee in addition to your RV permit to this state park but with ample parking, you should have no problem finding a spot. Many of the camping spots do require RVs to back-in for parking. Camping sites are close to each other in proximity and some offer green hedges for privacy while others have trees that provide very little shade.
