History buffs can also plan to head a few minutes outside the park to stop by Old Fort Niagara, where they can experience the history of the area through re-enactments.
Four Mile Creek State Park boasts 275 total campsites, made up of a mix of electric and non-electric sites, and some offering particularly stunning waterfront views. Located about 15 minutes north of Niagara Falls, Four Mile Creek State Park sits just off of NY-18 and Niagara Scenic Parkway. This New York state park is both easy to access in an RV or car, and conveniently located near many other major attractions in the area.
Once inside the park, visitors can expect to encounter interior roads and campground roads that are easy to navigate and big rig friendly. Most of the campsites in the park’s campground average about 50 feet by 50 feet in size, and most of the sites are back-in only, but the generally large site size makes the back-in access manageable even in larger rigs. Visitors will also be glad to know that a camping permit for Four Mile Creek State Park allows for free parking at all area state parks, including Niagara Falls State Park.
One of the major highlights of Four Mile Creek State Park is its proximity to many of the other attractions in the area, most notable of which is, of course, Niagara Falls. Visitors can expect a very easy and scenic drive from Four Mile Creek State Park to Niagara Falls State Park. For supplies and other needs, visitors can stock up on some items from the camp store inside the park, which is open from early April to mid-October, but for more extensive needs, guests can plan to head to the nearby towns of Youngstown and Lewiston a few miles away for a wide mix of restaurants, shops, gas stations, grocery stores, and more.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground
Four Mile Creek State Park Campground boasts 275 total campsites, with a wide variety of sites to choose from. Of the 275 campsites in the campground, 10 offer 50-amp electric hookups, 129 offer 30-amp electric hookups, and the remaining 136 sites are non-electric sites. The campsites average about 50 feet by 50 feet in size, so they can accommodate large rigs easily, and feature both shady and sunny settings. While there are no water or sewer hookups, visitors can instead make use of the multiple water spigots and restrooms located throughout the campground, as well as the two dump stations located in different sections of the campground. Visitors can also take advantage of laundry facilities located at comfort stations in the 100 and 200 areas, and playground areas in the campground. All of these campsites are located near the shores of Lake Ontario and offer stunning views of the area, but 10 premium electric sites are located right next to the water and offer a particularly special waterfront experience. The camping season runs from late April to late October and the sites can be reserved online, so those eager to select a particular site should plan ahead and book their ideal spot in advance.

Hiking & Biking
Visitors to Four Mile Creek State Park eager to stretch their legs and explore this New York state park on two feet or two wheels will be happy to learn that the park offers plenty of hiking and biking trails to choose from. The park features hiking and biking trails along the heavily wooded bluffs, and many visitors also enjoy walking along the different camp loop roads that wind through the park. Some of the best hiking, though, involves the scenic stretch along the west bank of Four Mile Creek down to the lake, where hikers can soak in stunning views on this Great Lake.
Niagara Falls
The major attraction in this area is, of course, Niagara Falls, and Four Mile Creek State Park offers visitors an excellent home base from which to explore this natural treasure, with its hundreds of campsites and close proximity to the falls. Guests camping at Four Mile Creek State Park will be only 16 miles from Niagara Falls State Park, and this short trip is an easy and scenic drive. Guests can plan to incorporate all of the nearby park’s attractions to their trip, including the Maid of the Mist boat ride and Cave of the Winds, and can even purchase discounted tickets at the Four Mile Creek State Park campground.

After a long day of hiking, biking, or sightseeing in the area, visitors can plan to relax and take in the scenery by enjoying a picnic at the park’s picnic area just steps away from Lake Ontario. Visitors can soak in the views of this Great Lake, look out for diverse wildlife, and enjoy either a packed lunch or pick up some items from the camp store. Those eager for more adventure can then take advantage of the sports fields in the same area, enjoying a game of volleyball while others picnic.

Anglers will have plenty to keep themselves busy during a visit to Four Mile Creek State Park, as the park gives avid anglers a chance to fish on Lake Ontario and its small tributary, Four Mile Creek. For a good spot on Lake Ontario, anglers can head down down the pathway to where the creek and lake meet and enjoy a rocky beach and great spot for fishing in this Great Lake. Anglers can expect great trout and salmon fishing, and can hope to catch steelhead, chinook salmon, coho salmon, brown trout, and lake trout, in particular.
Wildlife Viewing
Four Mile Creek State Park also has plenty to offer wildlife enthusiasts, due to its prime location on Lake Ontario and Four Mile Creek. Visitors can plan to head down to the marsh at the mouth of Four Mile Creek to spot animals ranging from great blue herons to white-tailed deer, and plants ranging from stunning white trillium to vibrant greenbrier. Those most interested in the birds who inhabit this park will also find that the marsh at the mouth of Four Mile Creek is an excellent location for birdwatching.
Historical Sites
Visitors eager to supplement their trip to Four Mile Creek State Park by learning more about the history of the region can take advantage of the many historical sites that surround the park. In particular, visitors can plan to take a ride through the Erie Canal, or tour the Lockport caves in an underground boat ride. For a vivid recreation of life in a different era, visitors can also stop by Old Fort Niagara just a few minutes away, where they can experience the history of the area through re-enactments.
