Indian Mountain State Park
RV Guide

Introduction

Nestled on the Tennessee-Kentucky border, Indian Mountain State Park is a stunning, expansive green space packed with activities for RV campers craving a little fresh air. This 213-acre tract was once an abandoned strip mine before it was revitalized into a natural area by the city of Jellico in the 1960s.

Indian Mountain State Park makes a great base camp for families looking to explore nearby museums and theme parks in both Tennessee and Kentucky. If you're expecting a camping excursion way up in the world-famous mountains of Tennessee, though, you won't find it here; Indian Mountain State Park can be found at the base of its namesake peak.

However, if you're looking for a place to park the motorhome and enjoy some rest and relaxation in the great outdoors, Indian Mountain State Park offers a variety of activities to suit laid-back landlubbers, including hiking, birding, picnicking, and outdoor sports. Those looking to spread their water wings will find opportunities to fish and paddle on Indian Mountain Lake. Once you're ready to hit the road in the RV again, make a pit stop in the quaint city of Jellico to grab a bite to eat and fuel up before making your way further north into Kentucky.
