Introduction

Sitting on the shores of Lake Huron, and well-known for its glorious sunsets, Inverhuron Provincial Park is a RV holiday paradise. Located near Inverhuron village, off Highway 21, Tiverton, Ontario, this 2.9 sq. km (1.1 sq. mile) provincial park features a wetland and young hardwood forest that provides a great setting for memorable camping experiences.

Recreational activities to enjoy at Inverhuron Provincial Park include boating and canoeing on Lake Huron, angling for trout, bass and other fish species, hiking and cycling on a shared-use trail, self-guided bird viewing, swimming, windsurfing, waterskiing, picnicking, nature and flora observation, discovery programs, and many more.

Inverhuron Provincial Park features 240 RV campsites available by reservation and on first-come first-served basis. Only a small fraction of the campsites in the park do not have electric RV hookups. Other facilities and amenities available in the park include group camps, comfort station, boat launch, picnic shelter, pet exercise area, dog beach, playground, roofed accommodation, showers, trailer dump station, gate house, payphone, garbage station, laundry facilities, and parking lots.

Trailer storage and Personal Floatation devices (PFDs) rentals, as well as Extension Cord Loan Service are available at the park.

Established in 1967, Inverhuron Provincial Park sits in an area that was once inhabited by indigenous people for thousands of years.

Transportation

Driving

Located near Inverhuron village, off Highway 21, Tiverton, Ontario, Inverhuron Provincial Park is an easily accessible park for RVs, trailers, and other motorized vehicles. There is a network of roads in the park that make navigation to various places of interest easy. There are no driving restrictions within the park.

Parking

Inverhuron Provincial Park features eight (8) parking areas that are distributed around the park. You’ll find six (6) parking areas around the three campgrounds in the park, one at the gatehouse, and another by the swimming beach. Another option for RV campers is to park their rigs at their respective campsites. Overnight parking is available at Inverhuron Provincial Park.

Public Transportation

Can-ar Coach operates a bus service from Toronto to Inverhuron once daily.

Gunn Point Campground

Gunn Point Campground in Inverhuron Provincial Park features 76 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents. All the campsites in the campground are equipped with electric hookup options for RVs. RV length limit at the campground is 32 ft (10 m), however, RV campers with larger rigs can contact the park to find out if space is available.

Amenities available for RV campers at Gunn Point campground include water taps, pit/vault toilet, restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, garbage dumping station, access to parking lot, and waterfront view.

65 campsites in the campground are available by reservation, while 11 campsites are available on first-come first-served basis only.

Holmes Bay Campground

Holmes Bay Campground in Inverhuron Provincial Park features 78 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents. All the campsites in the campground are equipped with electric hookup options for RVs. RV length limit at the campground is 32 ft (10 m), however, RV campers with larger rigs can contact the park to find out if space is available.

Amenities available for RV campers at Holmes Bay campground include water taps, pit/vault toilet, restrooms with showers, and parking lots.

66 campsites in the campground are available by reservation, while 12 campsites are available on first-come first-served basis only.

Lime Kiln Campground

Lime Kiln Campground in Inverhuron Provincial Park features 86 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents. 68 campsites in the campground are equipped with electric hookup options for RVs, while the remaining campsites do not have RV hookup options. RV length limit at the campground is 32 ft (10 m), however, RV campers with larger rigs can contact the park to find out if space is available.

Amenities available for RV campers at Lime Kiln campground include Water taps, pit/vault toilets, restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, parking lot, and access to trailhead.

73 campsites in the campground are available by reservation, while 13 campsites are available on first-come first-served basis only.

In-Season

Boating/Canoeing

Inverhuron Provincial Park features a boat launch which offers access to Lake Huron for RV campers to enjoy boating adventures. Canoeing and kayaking opportunities are also available on Lake Huron at Inverhuron Provincial Park. Watersports, including paddle boarding, waterskiing, and windsurfing are popular activities on the lake. The water conditions of the lake often change quickly, hence boaters and paddlers are advised to exercise caution on the shore of the lake.

Fishing

Lake Huron presents excellent opportunities for RV campers and anglers to catch various fish species such as bass, lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, perch, pickerel, pike, and salmon. RV campers can either enjoy fishing on the shore of the lake, or on boats offshore of Inverhuron on the lake. Little Sauble River also provides good fishing opportunities for brown trout, rainbow trout, perch, and bass.

Hiking/Cycling

Inverhuron Provincial Park features a shared-use trail for hiking and cycling for RV campers to enjoy. The trail starts at the gatehouse and leads to the shore of Lake Huron, where RV campers can hike along the shore, enjoying scenic views of the waterfront and the park’s campgrounds. RV campers can enjoy leisurely strolls along the trail, or ride their bicycles, depending on how they choose to have fun at the park.

Off-Season

Bird Viewing

There are opportunities to enjoy bird viewing at Inverhuron Provincial Park. The birds in the park are best seen during their migration periods during spring and fall.

Swimming

Inverhuron Provincial Park is popular for the clear waters at the shallow, sandy beach of Lake Huron which is perfect for recreational swimming. Some parts of the beach are buoyed to designate the swimming areas. Change facilities are available at the beach.

Discovery Program

Inverhuron Provincial Park offers a Discovery Program for RV campers and visitors to learn about the park’s natural features, history, flora and fauna. It's a great way to learn more about what you see on the trails, especially for kids.
