Decorated with Douglas fir, larch and spruce trees, Johnstone Creek Provincial Park provides a quiet setting for memorable RV camping experiences. Located 5 km (3.1 miles) west of Rock Creek, just east of Osoyoos along Highway 3, this small provincial park is perfect for escaping from Okanagan Valley, which can quite hectic.

Johnstone Creek Campground

Johnstone Creek Campground in Johnstone Creek Provincial Park features 16 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents. There are no RV hookup options available at the campground, however, basic amenities such as drinking water and pit toilets are available. It is recommended that all campers boil the water before use. RV length limit at the campground is 25 ft (8 m).

Many of the campsites in the park are shaded, however all the sites feature fire rings and picnic tables. Quiet time in the campground is from 10pm to 7am.

All the campsites in the campground are available on first-come first-served basis only.

In-Season

Hiking

As you enjoy your vacation at Johnstone Creek Provincial Park, you can take a hike on a short loop in the park along the creek that leads to three different benches where you will be able to view the rugged terrain of the gorges and ravines that surround the park. The view is absolutely breathtaking! Besides, there are cliffs just behind the benches. So, ensure you don’t hike beyond the viewpoints. Moreover, stay on the trails and do not take shortcuts to ensure you don’t destroy the plants and soil structure.

Wildlife Viewing

No dedicated viewing platforms are available at Johnstone Creek Provincial Park. However, that doesn’t prevent RV campers from enjoying beautiful wildlife views in the park. For example, white-tailed deer are commonly seen in the park. Moreover, various bird species nest on the trees in the park and these provide campers with pleasant sights. You’ll find woodpeckers, in particular, in most places in the park.
