Introduction

You'll find that Lake Carmi State Park has a gorgeous setting with plenty of activities that you can enjoy in Enosburg Falls, Vermont. The lake is the fourth largest in Vermont, and there are a variety of activities that you can enjoy on the lake, such as stand-up paddleboarding. You can bring your own boat to enjoy on the lake or rent them from the park office. When you're done boating, why not enjoy some fishing on the water?

You can enjoy several walking trails when you camp at Lake Carmi State Park. After you've trekked through the trails, you can cool off by swimming in the lake. There are designated swimming areas in both of the camping areas, so you won't be too far from the water, no matter where in the park you camp.

Lake Carmi State Park features the largest campground in the state of Vermont. It offers 138 tent and RV camping sites, as well as 35 lean-to sites. There are also two cabins available for rent too. There are no hook-ups, so you'll have to make do with the hot and cold running water and coin-operated showers that are in the campground facilities. However, this is the perfect RV destination if you are looking for a way to get closer to nature in the gorgeous landscape of New England.

Lake Carmi State Park is located in Enosburg Falls, within the state of Vermont. You will find the park easy to get to from town. The campground is large, so you'll want to know where you're going. Check in at the park office and then you'll be able to head to your campsite.

You can bring your boat to Lake Carmi State Park. There is even a boat launch that you can utilize, so bring your kayak or canoe to enjoy when you bring your camping rig. Don't worry though, if you don't have a boat you can rent them from the park office to enjoy on the lake.

You will find a variety of campsites to choose from, but you will want to choose carefully. While the campsites are listed for tents or RVs, some of them are too small to hold an RV. Make sure you take note about which you will choose when you make your reservations.

Lake Carmi State Park Campground

With over 100 tent and RV sites, the campground at Lake Carmi State Park is the largest campground in Vermont. You will find 138 tent or RV sites that can be reserved, as well as 35 lean-to sites that you can also enjoy. These campsites are all located around two major camping loops. Some are considered a prime location, due to their proximity to the designated swimming beaches. In addition, not all of the camping locations can hold an RV or large camping trailer, so you will want to reserve the size you need carefully.

The sites at Lake Carmi State Park lack hook-ups, but there is a dump site for trailers. If you want a less rustic experience, there are also two cabins available for rent. The park also has restroom facilities and coin-operated hot showers. You'll find hot and cold running water in these facilities.

In-Season

Swimming

Come prepared to enjoy the waters when you come camping with your trailer or rig at Lake Carmi State Park. There are two areas that you can enjoy the waters, located near each camping loop, so you won't have far to go. Make sure to stick to the designated swimming areas though, as people also go boating in the waters. The area has a sandy beach, which you can relax on when you're not actively swimming in the waters.

Fishing

Bring your fishing gear in your camper on your trip to Lake Carmi State Park. There's plenty of fishing at the lake, from walleye and perch to pike. The park also takes part in the Reel Fun fishing program so if you have no fishing experience, don't worry! You can learn to fish and borrow gear like a fishing rod and tackle to use at the lake as part of the program.

Boating

Make sure you pack your canoe or kayak on your RV so that you're ready for the waters at Lake Carmi State Park, as lots of people enjoy the lake's activities from the vantage of the water. If you bring your own boat, you can use the public boat launch at the lake. If you do not have your own boat, never worry - you can borrow boating equipment from the park, including an assortment of boats like canoes, for a nominal fee.

Off-Season

Hiking

You can enjoy several different trails when you come camping with your rig and equipment at Lake Carmi State Park. You'll find an assortment of easy walking trails through the park, with nothing too challenging for anyone in your family or group. Two of these trails include the nature walk, where you can appreciate the flora and fauna, as well as the Bog Walk, acres of the bog that you can view.

Picnicking

You will find plenty of places to enjoy a picnic when you come camping with your trailer at Lake Carmi State Park. There are picnic tables throughout the park, including at some of the camping sites, so you can enjoy your grilled dinner at the table. If you don't need a table for your picnic, there is plenty of green, grassy space for you to enjoy your picnic on the ground, especially around the day-use field.

Nature Programs

When you're camping with your RV at Lake Carmi State Park you'll never get bored as the park offers a variety of nature programs and activities. These vary depending on the day and season, but can include interactive activities and games, as well as programs led by employees of the park to educate you on the native plants and animals around the area.
