To begin the route, follow AB-11 W/AB-22 until you reach the juncture for Township Road 443A in the town of Alder Flats. Follow along this road until you enter the town of Buck Lake and spot your destination. The roads along this route are comprised of two lanes and are kept in good condition. Traffic moves along very well. Occasionally,. road construction takes place, typically during the summer months.
A shorter journey, the path from Alder Flats, AB to the park is only 31 km (19 miles). Start the route by taking AB-22 to Township Rd 443A in Clearwater County. Follow along this road until you enter the town of Buck Lake. The park can be found just up the road. A route that follow along mostly country roads, the highways consist of two lanes. Each of the paths along this trek is in good condition. Traffic remains fluid except when road construction occurs, causing delays.

Medicine Lake Campground is open from May 1st through October 14th for RV and tent camping by reservation only. There are 49 campsites available; all of them unserviced. Generator use is permitted, and dogs are welcome on the premises but must remain leashed.

Among the features you will discover are horseshoe pits, a boat launch, a playground, firewood, firepits, a fish cleaning station, a community cooking shelter, picnic tables, and dry toilets.
