Driving

Travel to Stagecoach Lake proceeds along country roads that consist of two lanes. The highways are properly maintained and are kept free from snow and ice year-round for ease of travel for locals and visitors alike. Construction is very rare, and traffic moves well regardless of the season. Do keep an eye for wildlife that occasionally makes its way onto the road.

Parking

Parking is found in several different locations throughout the premises including an on-site lot at the campground.

There is no public transportation available to Stagecoach Lake.

Reservations camping

Stagecoach Lake State Recreation Area Campground

Stagecoach Lake State Recreation Area Campground offers RV and tent camping by reservation on a year-round basis. There are 22 sites that offer 20, 30, and 50 amp power hookups for RV use. For those who prefer more primitive style camping, there are also 50 campsites that offer no amenities.

Plenty of grassy areas run from the campground to the edge of the water, making for an idyllic place to stretch out and play on a sunny day. A few trees in the campground offer some shade and privacy, but the campground as a whole is fairly open. Sites are level with gravel pads.

This campground is quite dog-friendly, so bring your pooch along if you like, but do please keep them leashed.

Among the amenities found here are drinking water and vault toilets.

In-Season

Boating

Any recreational activity that happens in the water is fair game at Stagecoach Lake! There is a marina located on the premises with a boat ramp that is the perfect locale for getting your pleasure boat out on the water or taking your canoe or kayak out for a spin. Both fishing licenses and fuel can be purchased at the marina.
All watercraft may enter the waters at Stagecoach Lake; however, there is a maximum speed limit of five miles per hour.
In addition to the one boat ramp found on the premises, there is also a dock.

Picnicking

On warm summer days, there is nothing better than enjoying a picnic at Stagecoach Lake. Pack a basket full of goodies and grab your best walking shoes and head out in search of the perfect spot. There are several picnic tables found throughout the grounds where you can kick back and relax while you enjoy your packed meal from home.

Fancy something a little more rustic? Pick a spot in the woods or by the lake where you can enjoy the beauty of nature along with a tasty snack.

Hiking

Stagecoach Lake has many different hiking trails with something sure to meet the needs and activity requirements of each member of the family. The landscape is primarily rugged and natural at this little slice of paradise, so come prepared with clothing and shoes that can weather rigorous hiking conditions.
Several trails are marked well with signs and vary in length and intensity. If you feel more like doing some exploring, set off on your own course to see what you can discover.

Off-Season

Hunting

Stagecoach Lake has a 412-acre section of the recreational area that is open to hunters in-season. Among the most popular game found at this park include pheasant, quail, and dove.
A hunting license is required to engage in the sport on any public property in the state of Nebraska. Be sure to check the state website to have a thorough understanding of regulations in place for hunters.
When in the woods, you'll want to wear some orange clothing to alert other hunters of your presence.

Fishing

Stagecoach Lake has long been a favorite fishing hole for avid anglers. Among the most popular species of fish found in these waters are bluegill, common carp, crappie, largemouth bass, walleye, and wiper. It is important to note that there are limitations on size for certain species of fish. With this in mind, you will need to consult the park's website to ensure you are carefully complying with all rules.
There is a section of the dock that is wheelchair accessible for fishing from the land.
A fishing license is required for angling in Nebraska waters.
