Transportation

Driving

Because Toledo is central to both Ohio and Michigan, it makes for a wonderful journey in your RV. Everything is well sign-posted from one state to the next, and views of Lake Erie are sure to make your passengers haul out the camera. Once you’re in Toledo, you can take Exit 210, Alexis Road, off I-75 on the Michigan and Ohio border to reach Toledo Speedway. It’s central to all the action while still being easy to find.

If you want to make sure you’re aware of all traffic congestion, weather warnings, and any delays, then download a traffic app such as OHGO to help guide the way with minimal hassle.

Parking areas

There are plenty of places to park around the race track at Toledo Speedway. Spaces aren’t marked, and size limitations for RVs, buses, and other big rigs may not be restricted; be sure to note the dimensions of your vehicle when planning your trip. Once you’re there, officials encourage you to stay put during the racing to ensure spectator safety. Fortunately, you can camp around the track or make use of the area’s public transportation if you prefer to stay elsewhere.

Public Transportation

While Toledo has a bus network, it may not prove all that convenient for transportation to the race track. In that case, you can make use of taxis and private ride service providers who operate in the area. They can bring you to and from the race track if you don’t want to drive your RV there.

Where to stay

Onsite

If you wanted to experience a bit of off-the-grid camping in your RV, then Toledo Speedway is the place to do it. Even if you only planned on showing up for the day, you are more than welcome to camp overnight in your RV, provided you are self-contained. You’re also allowed to use your generator once the action is over, but pets are not allowed. Service hookups are not available.

Maumee Bay State Park and Lake Erie are some areas to check for RV-friendly accommodation providers in the Toledo area. Several campgrounds are around a 25-minute drive from the race track and the heart of Toledo itself. Once you find one that might suit your needs the best, book it fast before someone else snaps up the last spot.

All you need to see, do, and experience is nearby for your convenience.
