Introduction

Valleyview Provincial Park is in the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the valley from the overlook at the park. While not on the Bay of Fundy, the park is just a short distance away, making it an easy drive for park guests to enjoy the Fundy Shore. The covered picnic areas in the park are perfect for a gathering with friends or family. These picnic tables are given additional shade by the surrounding trees.

Campers are welcome at the park when the season opens in June until its close in October. Reservations for campsites can be made online. Each campsite is shaded by the hardwoods which also provide guests with privacy. The sites are spacious and many of the campsites can accommodate RVs or travel trailers over 40 feet. The campground is unserviced, though there are water taps near the campsites.

During the late spring and summer, park visitors can expect mild to warm temperatures during their stay. Temperatures are often in the mid-70s making for a pleasant day to explore the outdoors. Nights can be cool, even in the summertime. Come prepared with a light sweatshirt or jacket. The beautiful fall foliage can be enjoyed by guests near the end of the camping season. The changing leaves in shades of yellow, red, and orange are certainly a site to see.

Valleyview Provincial Park is located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. It is located off of Hampton Mountain Road. The community of Bridgetown is only a 5 five minute drive from the park.

The short drive to and from Bridgetown is well worth the trip if you're in need of any services or supplies. Not only are you likely to find what you need, but you can also take in the area’s history while you’re there. Take the Cyprus Walk to see and learn about the more impactful parts of the community’s history.

Once at the park, you’ll find it easy to get around. There is parking available near the entrance kiosk as well as the day-use area. You can walk, bike, or drive to the different attractions within the park. The campsites are spacious and have gravel parking pads. Some sites can accommodate large rigs.

Valleyview Provincial Park Campground

Camping season at Valleyview Provincial Park runs from June to October. There are 30 campsites, as well as a group camping area. Some campsites can accommodate large rigs over 40 feet in length. The campsites are unserviced, but there are water taps as well as a dump station located within the park. Reservations can be made through the online reservation website.

The campsites are sheltered by the hardwood trees in the park, providing park guests with shade and privacy during their stay. Each campsite has a fire pit for which firewood can be purchased at the park.

Pets are allowed within the park, so feel free to bring your dog along for your visit. Your pup is sure to enjoy heading off down the trail or to the park’s overlook with you. Other amenities include vault and flush toilets, showers, and wifi that can be used by guests in the administration building.

Off-Season

Campfire

After a day of fun and activity, you may be ready to rest in the privacy of your campsite. What better way to relax than to enjoy a campfire? A fire pit is located at each site and wood is available for purchase at the park. Make s’mores, cook dinner, or simply relax around the fire under the stars.

Wifi

Wifi is available for guest use at the administration building in the park. It is password-protected, so you’ll need to get the password from the park’s staff. The park’s wifi comes in handy if you forgot to send that last work email before heading out on your trip or if trying to plan an outing to one of the nearby attractions.

Scenic Overlook

During your stay at the park be sure to venture over to the scenic overlook which provides stunning views of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. Sit at one of the park benches to relax and enjoy the view. Bring along a book for a peaceful afternoon. During the fall, visitors will be able to take in the beautifully colored autumn leaves.

Nearby Attractions

There are many area attractions located near the park. Upper Clements Theme Park is only about a 30-minute drive from Valleyview and has amusement park rides as well as an adventure park with rope courses and zip lines. The Bay of Fundy is also near Valleyview Provincial Park. Make the short drive to experience and enjoy the Fundy Shore.

Picnic

Gather with family and friends to picnic at one of the covered picnic sites. Some overlook the Annapolis Valley. The picnic tables are given additional shade by the many surrounding trees. A picnic at Valleyview is a great way to celebrate a reunion, a birthday or simply have a snack or meal.

Hiking

There is a one hiking loop at Valleyview. The trail is just over a half a mile (1km) in length and is an easy hike. The trail will lead you through the forest of hardwoods, with the trees providing plenty of shade from the summer sun. This short trail is a great way to stretch your legs and is enjoyable for all ages and skill levels.
