Freeport / Durham KOA

Freeport sits just 20 minutes' drive from Portland, Maine’s largest city and a vibrant cultural center in northern New England. Unlike its larger cousin to the south though, Freeport doesn’t have much traffic. Instead, you’ll find an abundance of great shopping, restaurants, and the beautiful landscapes that Downeast Maine is known for. One of the best places to stay when you’re motorhome camping near Freeport is the Freeport/Durham KOA campground.

When you rent a camper near Freeport/Durham KOA, you’ll have access to full hookups with 50 amp electrical capacity and sites capable of fitting an RV rental up to 85 feet long. If you’re visiting during the summer months, there’s a swimming pool (with water slide) to cool off in and a playground for the kids to burn off some energy. If you’re traveling with pets, there’s also a designated dog park where they can stretch their legs.

Don’t worry about emptying your tanks before camping with an RV near Freeport; the KOA has a dump station that you can make use of. If your clothes get a little dirty from having a little too much fun outside, there are laundry facilities available too. What most people like about staying at the KOA though is the community aspect of it; the RV campground puts on lots of events like pancake breakfasts, live music, and organized hikes that are great for bringing travelers together and making new friends.
