Bay City Campground

Saginaw Bay is a stunning place in northern Michigan, and when you rent an RV near Bay City Campground, you’ll be in a prime position to camp out on the shores of lovely Lake Huron. While there are no waterfront campsites, a short walk is all you’ll need to get to the lavish beaches that line the lake just minutes away. Bay City is the nearest urban area to the state-run campground, but the metropolis of Detroit is only a few hours’ drive south.

The densely wooded campsites at Bay City Campground afford park guests privacy, comfort, and quiet, with spacious lots and a symphony of birds and insects to lull you to sleep or greet you with the rising sun. If that wasn’t already enticing enough, gentle breezes rolling off Lake Huron provide relief from the surprisingly hot summer temperatures. Electric and water hookups are available to those that need them, and tent camping is possible, too, for those without campervan rentals.

Restrooms and modern showers are provided by the campground, so you’ll never need more than a few minutes of walking to get anywhere in the park. Aside from the incredible beaches where guests can sunbathe, swim, boat, and fish, there are plenty of fun activities for visitors staying at this rustic RV campground. The playground and splash pad do a fantastic job of keeping youngsters busy, as do the hiking trails and visitors' center on-site. The nature center, housed within the visitors' center is a wonderful place to learn about the local wildlife and the natural history that shaped Michigan's dreamy landscapes and the Great Lakes.
