Waxahachie Creek Park

Campers looking for a place to sleep under the stars in north-central Texas have a great option at Waxahachie Creek Park, which is located on the western shore of sparkling Bardwell Lake in the Blackland Prairie region of Ellis County. The lake, park, and onsite campground provide a popular and beautiful setting for hiking, boating, picnicking, and camping in an RV approximately an hour away from the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth.

Waxahachie Creek Park is located near the mouth of Waxahachie Creek on the upper side of Bardwell Lake. "Waxahachie" is considered to be a Tonkawa Native American word meaning "Buffalo Creek." The park’s campground features 65 sites that include water and 30-amp electric, campfire rings, and picnic tables. Amenities include showers, flush toilets, and a dump station.

There is paved parking and cell phone service at Waxahachie Creek Park, which makes it super easy and convenient to stay connected on your vacation and set up base camp in an RV rental. This is a great place for a motorhome camping trip with the entire family or for hosting a BBQ with small or large groups. There are seven non-electric picnic sites at the Waxahachie Creek Park, which also provides a group pavilion that campers can reserve for up to 200 guests, so why not plan your next big celebration at this campground.
