Bodi Lake Campground lies in the far north of Michigan’s largely untouched Upper Peninsula, an area ripe for exploration by those wanting to get off the beaten path and off the grid. There are no urban areas near Bodi Lake, which is precisely why most people choose to book an RV in Luce County. The closest town with any services is Newberry, about 45 minutes' drive from the campground. The largest city on the Peninsula, Marquette, is still quite small and is over two hours' drive away.
The campground has over a dozen sites, all of them absent of hookups for your campervan rental. Each site does have a picnic table and fire ring, though. Potable water is available from a hand pump, along with simple vault toilets, but otherwise, the campground is completely natural. If you need to empty the holding tanks on your rental RV, you’ll need to go down to Newberry to find a dump station.
Hiking trails encircle the lake to provide a few miles of exercise and outdoor enjoyment. This is also one of the more pet-friendly campgrounds near Newberry, so feel free to bring your four-legged pal along for the walk. Bodi Lake is also popular with anglers; it’s stocked with perch and has an ample supply of northern pike and walleye.
