San Angelo KOA

If an RV campground in west-central Texas is what you're after, look no further than San Angelo KOA. This distinct property is accentuated by native mesquite trees along with the usual KOA amenities (a swimming pool, barbecue pits, and a huge covered picnic area, to mention just a few). Propane and firewood are available for purchase should you decide to have a quiet campfire in your own site, and a dog park will keep your best furry friend happy too. The RV park has Wi-Fi that will allow you to stay in touch with friends and family, and cable TV channels will help you to stay informed or entertained (or both). Bike rentals are available so you can move around the campground or venture farther out.

First, you will want to get your rental RV set up, and San Angelo KOA makes this simple. All of the individual sites have full hookups; most of them have pull-through access, and some have either 30 amp or 50 amp electricity (a few have both). The campground has restrooms with showers and laundry facilities to help you freshen up upon arrival, and there is some tree foliage cover, although most sites provide you with an unobstructed view of the nighttime sky. A playground and basketball court will help keep the kids entertained; if the weather isn't cooperating, there is a recreation room with games and cable TV.

Now that the small details have been squared away, it's time to consider what lies beyond the campground. Less than a mile from San Angelo KOA, visitors will find Lake Nasworthy, where boating, fishing, and other water sports can be enjoyed. Several public golf courses afford you the chance to get a quick round in, but if walking & hiking in undisturbed surroundings are your things, there is an archaeological Native American pictograph site nearby (one of the largest in the nation). A footpath follows the Concho River a mere 50 feet below the limestone bluff that accommodates the hundreds of ancient paintings. A local museum has even more Native American artifacts, geological samples, furniture and appliances, war memorabilia, and so much more.
