Outdoorsy Camper rental on 7/3/18 booking #479879
When I met with Boris he gave me a 10 minute walk around on the camper. Texts that I have before arrival stated that they were rushed and only had a “small window” to show the camper for pick up. No papers were signed and no visual inspection was made on Outdoorsy provided forms. My wife and I rented this camper in hopes of spending a couple days camping in northern Georgia. Within 2 ½ hours of driving, the passenger side tire separated. Fortunately, road rangers were driving by when the incident happened. They were able replace the tire with the spare. About 20 minutes down the road the 2nd tire blew. Thankfully the blown tire and fender did not hit any vehicles traveling close by. At this point, we had already used the spare tire, and there was no jack or breakdown kit in the camper. We ended up having to buy 2 new “D” tires ($269 out of my pocket). I had to replace one tire on the side of the highway after going to a vehicle shop and buying a jack strong enough to left it and the other at a tire shop (another $150 out of my pocket). Talking to the tire techs, we were informed the camper did not have the appropriate tire rating for that size of camper and weight. The old tires were “C” rated when they should have been “D” rated. This was also confirmed by Camping World. After calling multiple tire repair shops on the side of I-75 northbound, we decided to go with Discount Tire. At the tire shop, we were told the tires had uneven ware, outdated, not balanced, and did not receive any regular maintenance. They also stated that these tires were Chinese made and were well known to separate. The technician, pointed out several cracks on the edges of the tread. Boris was aware of the situation and seemed apologetic over the phone. We were told several times the camper had been used in the past with no problem.
We finally made it to the camping site around 10pm (we should have been there around 7pm), but the situations did not get any better. The refrigerator did not cool, lights were very dim, oven was not working, and the AC ended up shutting down half way through the night, all while the camper was plugged in. After having to deal with the lack of AC overnight, we decided to end our trip short and return the camper. It turns out the camper’s battery was so dead, it would not hold a charge even when plugged in. Boris and Amber were aware of the whole situation. Amber seemed very apologetic and informed us, we would be receiving a full refund for our rental. When she was asked about the camper’s tire maintenance, she stated those were the camper’s original tires and she was unaware of any maintenance ever being performed. We were told that we would be given a full refund from Amber (Boris’ wife).
The drive home was uneventful. Upon returning the camper around 10pm. Neither Boris nor Amber were at the home to meet us. Amber informed me that since it was the holiday, they were in the middle of a party with their family. I tried to explain that we have been driving for 10hours and they had plenty notice of our arrival. She rudely told me “I’m not dealing with this!” with Boris shortly returning to the phone. At this point we were uncomfortable leaving the camper in their possession without any payment for the replacement tires. Boris agreed to return payment for the tires via PayPal. With everything said and done, we received our payment almost 2 days later with many of our phone calls and texts unanswered. Boris also passed the PayPal fee over so that I had to pay for the money transfer. Boris stated that once our rental payment made it to his bank he would refund the full rental amount. I have not received anything as of this date. After a ruined vacation, hours of changing tires and waiting mid-day on a highway, nonrefundable activities, and hours of driving with fear with this unknown camper, I have been contacted by Outdoorsy stating that Boris had put in a claim report and that I might have to foot the bill for damages. A better job of maintenance and safety should have been provided to this camper prior to renting it out, which clearly was not done. The campers poor tire condition could have killed my wife and I, not to mention any of the countless others that were traveling around us that day. As a local firefighter I see these horrific vehicle accidents everyday due to blown out tires. I thank God that such an accident did not occur to us twice that day!

The RV was the perfect size for our family of 3. It was extremely clean, easy to set up and Boris was super responsive to our needs. Thank you for making our first trip such a breeze. Can't wait to do it again!

My fiancé and I rented this trailer to go to Beerfest in Port Canaveral and stayed at jetty Park. Pick up was very easy and I was surprised at how easy this camper is to tow. We were able to sleep our three kids on the u shaped dinette. Thebslid out kitchen was perfect for the cooking that we did and it was so nice to have our own bathroom and not have to walk to the bath house every time someone needed to go. Drop off was also easy, dropped it off at the storage place where it is stored. They spot assigned to the camper is very easy to get in and out of. Boris was available for any questions that I had and was very responsive. I would totally rent from him again. We actually have 2 mode camping trips planned and booked with this cute little camper!!
