About Gillian Cox

Our family-run business while being relatively new we have a long tradition in the tourism industry on the Isle of Wight. Together with our love of Campervans and Motorhomes and also travelling, it was an easy decision to combine all the elements into Hire my Camper to enable others to share in our passion We love the Isle of Wight, and we also like to explore the UK and Europe in our Campervan together with our dogs we have ventured far and wide on our travels and always love the freedom and adventure that this brings. Being able to travel in a Campervan enables you to see so much more of the places you travel to and really immerse yourself in the surroundings. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service and hope our customers have as much enjoyment on their adventures as we do.

From the beginning we found Gillian and Andy to be very helpful and friendly. They arranged for us to have a viewing of Amber and explained the layout and practicalities of camper vanning before we had agreed to hire. As bookings allowed, we were able to pick the van up the evening before we had originally planned, and this allowed us to pack everything away at our leisure. We had an issue with a blocked sink and a slow puncture, neither of which could have been foreseen, and Gillian was very helpful on the end of a phone in getting these matters resolved. We would highly recommend them and plan to be booking again next year for a couple of trips.

Great camper for off grid/wild camping, equipped with solar panels constantly recharging the leisure batteries; you only need to worry about finding water and still the owner kindly offered to come back to refill water anytime if we wanted to, although we did not have to having found water taps in the toilets of national trust car parks (for a small donation of course).
The camper comes very everything you may require.
Easy pick up and return process and great comms from Gillian throughout the rental process.
The only downside to be aware of, although it probably won't affect many people is the fact that the bed, although a large square making for a large king bed is not any longer than 1.86m in any direction, which means if you are about this tall or taller you won't be able to sleep legs fully extended. This wasn't overly problematic though.
Overall very satisfied, thank you Gillian, Andy and Nick for making renting the campervan an enjoyable experience.

We had a fabulous time in Amber even though the weather was appalling. The van is so well made and equipped we were warm dry and entertained. All the little things are provided it really is a home from home so just pack your clothes books and go. Can’t wait to use her again.

We have just returned from a fabulous trip touring around Cornwall and Devon in Ruby. She is so well equipped and absolutely everything has been thought about down to the fine details. Very comfortable to both travel around and sleep in with lots of storage spaces throughout. We just found it so easy to park up, stay a night and move on without having to pack lots of things away. Would highly recommend Hire My Camper for a lovely, friendly and professional camper experience. Thank you.
