This RV is apparently co-owned by KOA & Outdoorsy. When trying to make some arrangements, each referred me to the other to discuss. Frustrating experience. Probably the biggest drawback in this rental. No one wanted to take responsibility.
The RV has some things that are intentionally disabled (we knew this in advance), the awnings, the stabilizing jacks. Not such as big deal. Generally worked as expected for a rental since 2018. The AC stopped working off the generator the last 2 days, but still worked when hooked up to electric. Some of the outside compartment storage spaces are not accessible because of broken locks, but enough were that it was not a problem.
It was able to sleep us & the grandkids comfortably. The bunk beds are a big plus because each had there own bed & the curtain afforded privacy.

My wife and I are new to to the RV experience. The Sunlight was a good 1st vehicle, as it is easy to drive, easy to learn to use, and was a big help in learning what to expect for future trips with family.

This Van has a good balance between comfort for two people and mobility and mobility even in cities.
The vehicle was in perfect condition and the people at KOA were very attentive at departure and at the return.

How to begin to describe a “dream trip” of four high school friends after they’ve graduated college and wanted one fabulous cross country adventure before settling into adulthood. This was that trip and enumerated below are the may and myriad ways the dream turned into a waking nightmare.• KOA was the least helpful out of all the KOA‘s we stayed in across the country during our 6500 mile journey. The manager was never around and the staff could not help us. It become quite apparent the rig they rented us was not well-maintained and had many damages on it after they rushed us to sign that nothing was wrong. There were mechanical failures along the trip that were constant. None of the outside storage was lockable because they said that someone had broken the key off in a lock - I’ve never seen a key break in a lock before but that does not explain why it was not repaired – there are people called locksmiths who actually do this for a living. Due to this we had things stolen out of the bottom of the RV. Firewood, tools (a Ryobe drill, the drill bits, a camp chair, and other small items that we needed). To compound this issue, while driving the outer storage doors would open randomly on the highway. Extremely hazardous to us and other drivers. Cosmetically and comically, we saw there were actual Band Aids® on the outside of the RV and wondered what they were, the middle was cut out so it was baffling and we had little foreknowledge that this was emblematic of the maintenance history of this vehicle – no actual repairs, just “band-aids holding it together. We soon realized on the road that they were put on to hold the weather stripping in place. They obviously didn’t get that fixed because they flew off while driving (we have videos) and they they charged us for it. The weather stripping on the slide outs likewise began to fall off as well. Lacking enough “band-aids, I had to tape it back into place. The driver’s side running board was broken. Heat from the transmission and engine would pour into the cabin and make us sweat profusely from the waist down. This occurred every time we drove for the entirety of our two week rental.
• On the inside, none of the drawers or cabinets locked so they all opened randomly whether we were driving or sitting still. Two passengers were hit with bulky object falling on them from the cabinets. There was a drawer that banged open while we were driving and the handles went right through the hollow bathroom door. There was a drawer next to the sink that was rigged so it looked functional but as soon as we pulled it out, it fell apart. The fridge battery was dead so as soon as you turn off the vehicle it would beep so loud you could hear it 15 feet from the vehicle and food was not kept at temperature. The floor was peeling through the entire RV. It appeared the RV wasn’t properly cleaned as we found other peoples’ belongings and art supplies. Considering we are in a global pandemic it was very unsettling to know that proper sanitation procedures were not followed and we had to clean it ourselves before we felt safe. The tank gauges did not work. Even after emptying them they read as full. The window screens were broken. We had to tape them up so they didn’t fall out of the RV. Some didn’t have screens so they could not be opened. The radio malfunctioned for at least 12 hours, staying in the on position. It froze the console so we did not have any cameras or controls from it. It also got extremely hot to the touch. An RV technician at in the Tetons said that the radio had to be pulled out and reset from behind. It was 110 degrees for a few days and we could not get the generator to stay on so the back of the RV was sweltering. It was torture. On the propane alarm started to go off once we got to our first camp ground which really scared us so we decided the safest thing was to not touch the propane tanks and we made sure they were in the off position. This caused us to have to take very cold showers, the water in the Tetons was 40 degrees. We also could not use the stove. This made cooking impossible. We tried to find a manual but there was none. The back curtain for the window fell off. The driver’s side window would just stop going up periodically. We had to stop using that. There was a piece of trim above the microwave that flew off (it wasn’t secured by anything). There was a nail that kept coming out of the table bench that I ripped my leg on and have a wound. I had to go to my doctor to see if I needed a tetanus shot upon my return. The table would not stay in the locked position, we had to tape it. There is also an ungodly smell that would come out of the bathroom while we were driving even though a window was open – it was so foul that at one point we were all gagging. We had emptied the tank and flushed it with water. But nothing worked and we had to live with the stench throughout
• To make matters even worse, we were hit by an 18 year old that wasn’t paying attention in Utah. The only solution Outdoorsy could come up with was to come and take the RV which would have left us stranded in Utah. It was unacceptable so we had to finish our trip. During the accident there was a gallon of water that shifted in the fridge and once we opened the fridge it fell out and shattered a drawer. We told them about it and we are being blamed and charged.
• We acknowledged that we did damage the mirror on the driver’s side, we pointed it out when returning the vehicle and were prepared to pay for repair.• We called KOA the first 2 days to let them know when these things happened so we would not be charged as they were not our fault. They asserted that they had no idea about this stuff because the RV was not theirs. They said it was Outdoorsy’s rig. They claimed they just housed them and bore no other responsibility. It would be akin to booking a hotel room at a Holliday Inn on Expedia and then there were issues in the room so you call the front desk and they tell you “Sorry, you have to call Expedia because we don’t own or keep up the room. We just own the building.” It was ridiculous. They repeated this claim multiple times when we dropped it off. We got the vibe they wanted us to stop bothering them and that it was a nuisance. We then started calling Outdoorsy to keep them in the loop and they informed us that it was in fact KOA’s issues and they were lying. Outdoorsy said there was nothing that could be done and just to keep them updated. So we did. Each time something went wrong we called. There is a file that should have all the issues listed. Outdoorsy also informed us that KOA stopped responding to them for a fews days which was frustrating. Over the course of this “dream trip” we were bounced around so much at Outdoorsy I became confused as to who was who and who needed what information from me.• Upon returning the RV we were met with an absolutely miserable employee at KOA. He appeared to be mad at us for the damages that their lack of maintenance caused. The woman at the front desk could prevaricate like a champion. Without skipping a beat she came up with so many excuses as to why things happened the way they did and, oddly enough, none of them were their responsibility. She also maintained that Sally the manager wasn’t here to help and had not been there since 10 am. Meanwhile when we pulled in the four of us all saw her roll up to the office in a golf cart and then disappear. She said Sally would call me later about the trip. Still waiting! Instead she wrote “Damages” on Outdoorsy and charged my credit card around $2400. I have been asking since we dropped it off for a break down of the costs and I have gotten nothing• I did some more internet research on Outdoorsy and found a review from 2019 that had many of these issues listed in them and two years later none of them had been repaired and Sally is still running from upset renters. This review makes us believe there is intent here and negligence on KOA’s part. They know the issues, they know they haven’t fixed them, and they know they can book substantial damage charges at the end of the trips. These are deceptive business practices that could easily be construed as outright fraud. It is infuriating and we are just that, furious.• This has been the single most frustrating experience with a business I have ever had in my life. I have my own business and would never, ever treat customers in this manner. I would be out of business. I hope something changes at KOA South Philly because I will undoubtedly contact KOA corporate and making them aware of what if going on here. Depending on how this is resolved, I will be filing a BBB complaint as well as dropping reviews everywhere.

Very nice people to deal with. RV was very clean and everything was laid out nice. Was a little disappointed to learn that the automatic leveling jacks and the awning were disconnected and not usable. We still had a great time on our vacation.

First the good things...The Van itself is a great size for one or two people max. The ride was smooth and the the engine powerful for picking up speed going uphill. Inside was enough room to move and the height for me 5'5 although I'm not tall so it worked out great. Storage very similar to airplane storage for over bags. Great on gas!! Now the bad things...the fan vents didn't work. The panel for the gauge of water tank, black water tank was broken..no one told me about it until I returned. I also was told not to touch the panel where the inverter is that I was set? This is where the gauge for water heater & turn on water is. A nice lady I met at a stop happened to be an experienced RV lifer. She helped me get the water on & the heater for the hot water:) the AC was so loud I couldn't sleep. The pillows should have velcro to stay in place because they kept falling off the seats in back area (actually the pillows for bedding) it would have been nice to have a lighter so I could light the burners to cook, thankfully, I did bring matches. the shower curtain should have been replaced it was dirty. There was a piece of rubber in between passenger & driver that was the cover to something and kept coming off, no matter how many times I placed it back in it's place. The Black water hose has a L shape attachment to drain at any campsite it was supposed to be fitted and screw right into the campsites hookup. It was not! There is also supposed to be another kind of tool that raises the hose to drain properly it did not have it. This should be supplied with the van. Despite all of this I made my trip a happy one! My BIGGEST COMPLAINT...do not think you will get an answer to any questions about anything besides the dates you rent to when you bring it back. The customer service from outdoorsy is great! BUT...the owners of the RV are horrible ...I sent emails asking them to return an email about mileage, and a few other questions.
If you can't get an answer to simple questions that's a clear sign to avoid renting. I say if you do rent you're taking chances. I also was never told if I'm going to go through any tunnels I should turn the propane tank OFF!
What an experience! I'm glad I went but I would not recommend or rent from them again!

KOA staff are friendly and easy to work with, this review is not for them.The van however was quite a letdown. A majority of the usable functions of the vehicle didn't work properly. The vent fans in the roof didn't work, which were needed for summer weather. When picking up the guy said "Oh this one doesn't work, the other one should", which it didn't. I would have liked some sense of confidence before driving away. The cabinet doors fold upwards on a hinge that I can only assume is designed to hold the doors up while you're grabbing whatever from them, but in this case they either don't stay up at all, making them unusable because of how difficult it is to hold open and access the storage, or they stayed up for 4 seconds then promptly fell back down on your head/arms/hands. The living space is covered in cheap plastic; lots of screws pulled out, cracks, peeling. It just felt so cheap. The front seats are on a swivel, which is great in theory, but the driver's seat has a huge piece of plastic behind it so the seat physically cannot actually swivel around. The sterio up front worked only on one radio station, the USB connection doesn't work. For a 2018 its remarkable that it has such a poor stereo system. Even little things like the date and time were wrong, making it seem like they don't put too much attention into the general usability of this vehicle.

So despite all the downfalls, we had an amazing time. The RV had a BUNCH of stink bugs that were not pleased that we were borrowing their home for 10 days. Especially the one that lived in the DVD player by the bunk beds. He got a ride smooshed awaking when he crawled out of the side of the TV. The outside TV did not work, one of the drawers went rogue and didn’t stay in when driving, the backup camera/radio stopped working whenever it felt like it, the leveling jacks were disabled (apparently they break often, but we slept on an incline or decline the whole time), and the awnings were disabled. The KOA was super busy and did not respond to my texts/messages for 2-3days.On the plus side, they were flexible with extending our trip when I changed my mind 1400 times, the 2hrs a day free generator use was awesome, the memory foam mattress was comfy in the back, the slides worked great, and after much confusion/fighting with the wifi, we were able to have a nice family movie night on a rainy night. We had an awesome time. I definitely will use this KOA/RV/Outdoorsy app again.

This was our first RV adventure, and it was a great success. Tom did a super job walking us through the van before we booked it, we managed everything with only a question or two during the trip. Thunder/lightening storms in the evenings prevented our cookout, but we were able to put together a really nice meal inside. We really enjoyed our little 'run away from home' and hope to do more very soon. Thanks!

First time RV user. Trip was fun , but it would’ve been nice to have an owners manual or something for the RV. Spent a lot of time figuring things out instead of spending time with my family.
