About Mark Wurtemberg

I love camping. I have been camping since a young age of 2 in a 1979 Viking Tent Trailer (my parents still own it). My wife, 3 children and I enjoy beach camping as well as desert camping (we love Joshua Tree). We really enjoy our C Class.

Our family took a wonderful CA coast road trip and loved this RV experience!
It was our first time on an RV and dealing with the full hook ups. Mark the owner made it as easy as possible for us to understand the hookups system and also had printed out guidelines and troubleshooting reminders to keep with us in the RV. He was available and communicative when I had a couple questions for him during the trip.

Mark’s answer

Thank you Nicole. It was a pleasure serving you and your family. You were all a delight. Looking forward to serving you again. -Mark

The process of renting the RV was hassle free. Mark was very accommodating with our requests and promptly replied to any inquiries. He provided a mini-orientation of the RV which was really helpful for first time RV renters like us. The whole experience was just wonderul!

Mark is great. Very friendly and communication was a breeze. He answered texts and questions promptly. The vehicle is AS PICTURED. Clean, roomy, and a breeze to drive. I would recommend Mark and his RV to anyone, especially families looking to get away. This RV is well equipped with pretty much everything you'll need to sustain yourself with on a trip. The walkthrough was thorough and I felt prepared with all the knowledge given to be able to camp successfully. 5 Stars all around.

Mark’s answer

Thank you very much Brady. I hope to work with you again in the future.

Mark is a good guy. He was extremely responsive and helpful through the booking process. But sadly, the reality is that the experience was a disaster. This RV was rented for a winter month (October in Utah) and the RV's heating system (furnace) did not work. Temperatures reached 7F at night and we were without proper bedding (provided by Mark). This is clearly an RV that's owned to make an income. It does not feel like an RV that's taken care of as a prized possession. The driving was not good - the exhaust was broken (so its loud) and the direction (steering) is extremely loose. The RV was given to us with a full septic tank (upon asking Mark he mentioned he "trusted the last people would have emptied it"). Also the sideview mirror (passenger side) fell off. Upon inspecting the RV the owner mentioned a screw was loose, but this made it seem like a small issue. While driving, it fell off and we had to stop at a gas station for duct tape and tape it back on. Also, which may seem like a detail but if this is your first time renting an RV it's not, the levels for the gray water and black water tanks do not work. Mark mentioned this in passing, but I do believe such information deserves to be put on the listing - this influences one's decision to book this RV or another.

I have appreciated Ivan’s patience while I have attempted to troubleshoot each of his concerns along the way. I was surprised that the heater did not work properly for the renter, as I had tested it with him present during our checkout walkthrough. Unfortunately, it was determined that the heater problem was mechanical and could not be solved over the phone. However, the day after he informed me of the issue, the renter purchased two space heaters for which he was reimbursed. I am also surprised to hear about Ivan’s concerns about the bedding being inadequate, as the bedding I provided was true to the description in my listing, which also was reviewed during our checkout walkthrough. Once the renter returned the RV, I had a mechanic look at both the exhaust and the steering (per the renter’s complaint) and he found there was nothing wrong with them. In terms of the black tank reportedly being full, I would never rent an RV that had a full black or gray water tank. It should be noted that it is impossible to completely empty these types of tanks, as they empty via gravity. It is very common that the sensors in these types of tanks do not read 100% accurately which is why I routinely look in the toilet to confirm. This was also discussed with the renter upon checkout. I wish I had been informed about the mirror issue prior to the renter attempting to fix it on his own with tape. There is a simple fix for any loosening on the mirror (it has a screw at the end of it that simply can be tightened with the tools provided). I am mostly surprised that the renter did not mention in his review that he and I were working together with Outdoorsy to come up with a proper refund. I believe the final result was about 50% of the rental refunded by myself and Outdoorsy. This shows good faith on both Outdoorsy’s and my part. I too was disappointed to hear that the heater did not work but was glad to hear Ivan’s report that he had a great trip in spite of the challenges with my RV.

We rented the RV for eight days. It was reliable, spacious, and in perfect condition. For over one thousand miles the RV provided everything that we could of expected. The slideout on the RV makes it feel like a living room on wheels. It was manuverable enough in the tight twists of Big Sur and sure-footed on the long descents and steep climbs of Yosemite. Mark was professional and friendly. We couldn't of asked more from him. He lead us on a thorough walk through of the RV beforehand and was quick to answer any questions throughout the journey. I would recommend Mark and his RV and plan on using him again!

Mark was great from the beginning. With videos for the more confusing aspects and a great walkthrough of the RV before we drove off. Being first timers we were nervous. But the rv drives great and never felt too big. Just be prepared for gas station stops!!!
