RV rental prices

The cost to rent an RV definitely varies, and it depends on a few factors. How much space do you need? What amenities are you looking for? Everyone vacations differently and has different priorities.

To help you estimate your RV rental cost, we’ve put together some pricing information that will give you a better idea of what factors you should take into consideration when choosing an RV.

How much does it cost to rent an RV?

Outdoorsy’s RVs are rented out by individual owners, so costs will vary. RV rental prices can fluctuate based on rental market location, seasonality, and type of RV. To give you some rough estimates, here are Outdoorsy average prices to rent an RV by type:

Class A: $175 to $275 per night

Class B: $100 to $200 per night

Class C: $150 to $200 per night

Travel Trailer: $50 to $125 per night

Fifth Wheel: $60 to $150 per night

Pop Up Trailer: $50 to $100 per night

Another peer-to-peer platform for renting RVs is RVShare. Below are their average RV rental prices:

Class A: $150 to $450 per night

Class B: $100 to $350 per night

Class C: $100 to $400 per night

Travel Trailer: $50 to $200 per night

Fifth Wheel: $60 to $300 per night

Pop Up Trailer: $50 to $100 per night

A third option for renting RVs is Cruise America. They are a corporate RV rental company with dealerships across the U.S. and Canada. It’s a bit more difficult to estimate what the cost to rent an RV would be with them because pricing varies based on your specific trip.

Usually, however, most trips cost at least $100 per night and Cruise America also adds on a price per mile of $0.35. That adds up quickly!

RV rental cost: How does it work?

Besides rental market location, seasonality, and type of RV, there are some other factors taken into consideration for RV pricing. When it comes to RV rental cost, the size and age of the RV are big factors. Extra amenities are also things that can add to the cost.

Insurance is also something to think about. Some RV owners will charge renters to be added to their insurance. And depending on your state, there will also be a tax charged to the final amount.

RV owners can list RV rental prices by day and have a minimum rental amount in days. They can also list weekly rates and monthly rates.

Of course, overall prices may change depending on the season. Owners can also set a limit to generator use and mileage. This means that if you go over the indicated amounts, you’ll be charged extra.

Another factor to keep in mind is a security deposit. It might be a big chunk of money, but you’ll get it back once you’ve returned the RV clean and with no damages. Make sure to ask the owners exactly what they expect and if they charge any additional fees for things like outdoor furniture.

So how much does it cost to rent an RV? By now you’ve figured out that that’s a tough question to answer. But after spending some time researching and adding up numbers, you should be able to find the RV rental that is best for your vacation and that sticks to your budget.
