During the warm summer months, visitors can enjoy the cooler temperatures in the high Ponderosa pine forest or go boating on human-made lakes in the forest’s recreational areas. Throughout the winter, you can discover the desert lowlands or head to Santa Catalina Ranger District for skiing, snowboarding, or snowmobiling. The ski area is located near the summit of Mt. Lemmon, making it one of the southernmost ski areas in the USA.Tucked into the eastern side of the Whetstone Mountains, within the boundaries of Coronado National Forest is Kartchner Caverns State Park. If you’ve brought a mountain bike along for your vacation with an RV rental near Benson KOA, then you can hop onto the Guindani Trail, it’s one of the most popular cycle routes. The path winds for four miles through the mountainous forest to Upper Volunteer Village and joins to the Cottonwood Saddle Trail. Meanwhile, hikers have plenty of loop trails to choose from with mountain viewpoints and water crossings on the way. While exploring the trails, you can keep an eye out for rare peregrine falcons or watch out for mountain lions. The park is home to a wide variety of birds, mammals, and amphibians.Of course, for many visitors, the highlight of Kartchner Caverns State Park is the opportunity to get underground. You can take a guided tour of these limestone caverns which were discovered in 1974 and search for one of the world's longest soda straw stalactites. Alternatively, come after nightfall and switch off your vehicle’s lights for one of the park's organized stargazing nights.Saguaro National Park is another place that you can add to your itinerary while you’re RV camping at Benson KOA. Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
