The Great Outdoors

Time for that fantastic nature that was promised! First out is Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, which has trails so close that you can just leave your campervan rental near Oakzanita Springs RV Campground and go straight to the hiking. Here you'll find picture-perfect mountain views, more wildflowers than you can count, and abundant wildlife and birds to watch, and let’s not forget about the waterfalls, because Mother Nature sure didn’t when she was designing this amazing park.A tiny bit farther north (still under 15 minutes in your Descanso motorhome rental) you’ll find Lake Cuyamaca Recreation & Park. This body of water might be small - but that’s exactly the size of the packages that good things come in, which becomes apparent when you see it for yourself. Surrounded by oak and pine forest, this is an excellent place for any angler if you’re in the mood for some trout, Florida and smallmouth bass, or sturgeon, that is. Other than fishing, there are boats and duck hunting by the lake, and bird watching and camping on dry land. It’s hard for Descanso campers to believe that the big city is just an hour's drive away.If you don’t mind stretching those legs a bit more, there are plenty of peaks in the area that you can hike to, or even up. Cuyamaca has its own peak, and other ones include Middle Peak and North Peak. Have a quick look at your maps, check out the peak of your preference, and make sure to stay safe (with sunscreen, water, and level of difficulty) - then you’re good to go.

Explore the Area

Since you’re in the heart of the wilderness, that’s also what you’re going to find in the area. Like the California Wolf Center, where you can see the beautiful canines like you never have before, or why not visit one of the alpaca farms? There are also ranches that put on events all year round, so you’ll have plenty to choose from whenever you decide to rent a motorhome near Oakzanita Springs RV Campground. If you’ve missed socializing and indoor fun, you won’t have to drive far until you get to the casino near Alpine, where you can reach a state of true relaxation at the spa, or go the opposite direction and get your heart racing at the gambling tables. There’s also entertainment such as concerts and shows, bowling and rollerskating, and a whole lot of food to choose from. How about some noodles, a big, juicy steak, or something from the grill? Still hungry? Well, then it’s time to hit the buffet.Within minutes after your arrival, you’ll know exactly why it’s such a brilliant idea to rent a campervan in Descanso, CA, - it really is that beautiful. It’s the perfect place to recharge your batteries and make some unforgettable memories at the same time. Bring your friends, kids, or your dog - or come alone to this little RV paradise.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
