The Great Outdoors

If you think that you’ve seen all of General Coffee State Park already, then you’re probably mistaken. Other than the trails, fishing, and archery, you can rent bikes and explore the part of two wheels, check out one - or several of the educational programs, or get a pedal-boat rental and go on an adventure on the water. See if you can spot an indigo snake or gopher tortoise, and if you want to get even closer to some animals, you can visit the Heritage Farm and see a little bit of agricultural history. Visit a log cabin, tobacco barn, and a cane mill and say hi to goats, pigs, and donkeys. If you want to combine your outdoor recreation with a visit to Douglas, then head there with your RV rental and check out one of the several parks in the city. Find the one with the best playgrounds, or the best trails, or the best picnic shelters - or you can try them all once you’re there. Find some fields where you can play some sports or courts for tennis or basketball. Once you’ve had enough physical activity for now, just wander around the pretty landscape or sit down on the grass and just enjoy the sun. The best part about being within Douglas might just be that it’s not far to an ice cream store.Should you, on the other hand, want to get as far from cities and their noise as possible, then it’s time to hop into your Nicholls RV rental and type Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge into your GPS. Once there, you can marvel at the pristine wilderness that is said to be an ecological wonder while walking on the boardwalk through swamp prairies and past longleaf pine. Go bird and wildlife watching, do some fishing, or hit the waters in a kayak. You might even spot an alligator.

Exploring the Area

When you rent a camper near General Coffee Campground, you’ll have history all around you and be able to visit sites such as the beautiful Ashley-Slater House, and museums like the Heritage Station Museum where you can see an array of collections of military, agricultural, and African-American items and artifacts. Next up is World War II Flight Training Museum, where pilots were taught about flying and got hands-on experience with the aircraft. There are more museums, of course, but you can also drive your camper rental to one of the local, family-owned farms where you can buy incredibly fresh produce - or perhaps even pick it yourself. Munch on your goodies right away or bring some back to friends and family so they can experience a little piece of southern Georgia as well. If you want to have some old-school fun, there’s both bowling and a cinema in Douglas where you can kill a couple of hours.Have you started your search for an RV rental in Nicholls yet? No? Then you know what to do for the next few minutes - unless you want to miss out on an absolutely amazing RV camping vacation, that is.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
