The Great Outdoors

Once you've booked one of the RV rentals in Kootenai County, you can start your vacation by taking your new toy for a spin to experience why motorhome camping trips are so unique, and then head for Mount Spokane State Park just a short distance across the Idaho-Washington State border. This year-round undisturbed nature preserve is the ideal place to go hiking and mountain biking, with approximately 100 miles of trails for your enjoyment. Moose reside here and will sometimes cross the trails; wearing a bell can alert them to your presence and help to avoid any surprise encounters. There are peaks where you can enjoy unobstructed views of Spokane Valley, the northern Idaho panhandle, or even see beyond the U.S. border into Canada.Coeur d'Alene National Forest began as the Coeur d'Alene Forest Reserve in 1906 by order of then-President Theodore Roosevelt. It was once the site of silver mines and logging activity but has since been restored, the white pine stands having been replaced by Douglas fir and grand fir after the white pine succumbed to a European fungus. Today the park is popular with hikers and offers mountain biking, picnicking, fishing and hunting, and other activities. Nature viewing is a popular activity due to the park's wide variety of landscapes, such as forests, rivers, waterfalls, ridges, and peaks, many of which can be accessed by the park's trail system.Liberty Lake Regional Park is both a cultivated and undisturbed natural area comprised of wetlands and forests, ORV trails, remote backcountry areas, and manicured lawns. While you're here, you can enjoy the sheltered picnic areas and barbecues, a children's playground and established beach area, or head out on the trails to witness the primitive nature. If you're hoping to stay overnight, the park has campgrounds, an RV park, and rental cabins; all of these, as well as the park itself, are open to the public from early May to late September each year.

The town has a thriving restaurant scene with numerous eateries and prices ranging from inexpensive to moderately priced.Sagle is a smaller, unincorporated town with some interesting attractions such as a bird aviation museum, a botanical garden, and lots of opportunities to do some shopping. There is an alpaca farm just outside of town where you can view the alpacas up close. Sagle is a good place to refuel with cafes and breweries, pub restaurants, pizzerias and Italian joints, and more. Most of the venues are locally owned and operated, meaning the ingredients are locally sourced and you can expect the service to be friendly.Authentic natural surroundings, historical and cultural attractions, and a friendly atmosphere are what you can expect when you vacation in Kootenai County and settle into one of the campsites at Farragut Campground.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
