About this RV

Betsy is a big, beautiful beast of a van, hand-built by yours truly (and a few very talented and generous friends and family members) in summer 2016. I lived full-time in the van for 2.5 years, making small upgrades along the way. She's not only very functional as an adventure rig, she's quite cozy as well. That's the first thing most people say when they see the inside: "Oh, it's so cozy in here!" I call her my little studio apartment on wheels. Because Betsy was my home, there are plenty of luxurious details that you might not find in the standard weekender rig. Below are most of her amenities, but if there's something you're looking for that's not on there, don't hesitate to ask!

- USB power to connect your phone to the stereo system, as well as Bluetooth connection

- Easy-to-use passenger swivel seat

- Propex HS 2800 Heater located under passenger seat with custom metal front; thermostat is located between kitchen and bed, so you can roll over and turn it on during a cold morning, without getting out of bed. Set the temperature and it will keep the van heated. (Runs off a combo of propane and electricity.)

- Handmade butcher block that folds out into a table

- Full-size Tempurpedic mattress purchased in January 2018 (Since the bed is half the space of the van, I figured it might as well be plush—and it is!)

- Three-burner propane stove and oven, plus all the essentials for cooking and a French press for making coffee. People ask me if I actually use this and my answer is ALL THE TIME. Fresh baked cookies, pies, quiches, meat, potatoes, it really opens up the cooking possibilities!

- Window over the kitchen where you can enjoy a beautiful view while you cook; this has two separate panels that open with a mesh interior to allow a cool breeze inside and/or air out cooking smells without letting bugs in

- Two-way fan over the main living area that pulls cool air in or pushes hot air (and accidental smoke from cooking!) and smells out

- Carbon monoxide detector in the rear for added safety

- Mini fridge that stores 3-4 days' worth of food

- Solar-power, which fuels the main battery, and that unit runs power to the 3 USB/three-prong wall outlets. There's one outlet near the kitchen area, one near the bed area, and one next to the slider door so you can power things outside the van. If weather is rainy or cloudy for a few days, you can also plug this unit into a standard wall outlet to re-up power.

- Tons of lighting options, all with built-in switches, including overhead lights in the main living area and bedroom, an ambient light strip over the headboard of the bed, one under the kitchen cabinet to make cooking easier, and the 'blaster strip' that runs along the kitchen cabinet—it's super bright, hence the name.

- Slider cabinets over kitchen area and bed with plenty of storage.

- Beautiful, custom cedar bench with a soft cushion on top for comfort

- Full-size closet with hangers to keep clothes nice and wrinkle-free

- Small shoe nook tucked inside full-size closet

- Fully stocked kitchen (utensils, spices, oil, pans, plates, bowls, cups)

- Summer bedding provided (sheets, light quilt, two pillows) plus extra blankets, but you're more than welcome to bring your own. Some people prefer to use their own sleeping bags, so that's no problem. There’s plenty of storage under the bed if you bring sleeping bags and don’t use them, or decide to use sleeping bags and need to store the provided bedding.

- Two towels, washcloth, and hand towel provided.

- Two foldout camp chairs and a cooler for extra cold food storage and beverages.

I had the best experience! Betsy was everything promised. Easy driving... perfect space... and best of all I had my “house” with me everywhere I wanted to go. Julie was friendly and accommodating. The van was stocked with everything I needed: pots/pans, blankets, towels, kitchen supplies, Propane stove, water, portable chairs, lights & even bear spray! I highly recommend!! It’s the way to go …

My girlfriend and I rented the van for 7 nights / 8 days to drive through Yellowsone and Grand Teton National Parks. It was the trip of a lifetime, and this van was exactly what we needed. It was very homey, tidy, and actually felt spacious. The van drove extremely with no issues whatsoever. There's additional blankets, pots, pans, french press, stove, chairs, etc. It has everything you could poss…

If you want to do Yellowstone and the Grand Teton, the only way to do it is through the eyes of Betsy. 10 out of 10 recommend. She has all you need for a fun, easy, and simple trip. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. Book now!

Betsy was truly incredible - the perfect camper van for a honeymoon in Yellowstone. Would much prefer to spend two more weeks living out of Betsy than return to real life in the Midwest, but such is life. Comfortable and ideally sized, the variety of convenient little features packed into the van is impressive. Definitely plan to book again in the future.
