The Great Outdoors

Kansas is quite a large state, and you'll have lots of options when it comes time to venture out in your Goodland RV rental. Prairie Dog State Park is about an hour's drive northeast of Goodland, close to Keith Sebelius Lake. The park is named for the famous critters that inhabit the Great Plains of America, the prairie dogs who call the area home. Logan County State Park is also quite small but packs a lot of fun for its size. A 25-acre lake lies at the center of this recreation area, perfect for fishing or swimming when temperatures soar in the summertime. You can catch catfish, sunfish, crappie, and many other types of fish when you bring your fishing gear to this fantastic natural area south of town.Lake Scott State Park is found in the opposite direction, far to the south but worth the travel time. This incredible slice of Kansas has breathtaking nature trails and epic historical sites like the Pueblo villages left behind by native tribes long ago. You can hunt, fish, hike, swim, boat, picnic, and camp year-round when you bring your motorhome rental to the shores of Lake Scott.A few hours' drive west of the Goodland campground, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado can yield a world of amazement if you feel like taking a road trip in the campervan rental for a change of scenery. Places like Rocky Mountain National Park and Great Sand Dunes National Park are within reach in the gorgeous Centennial State, with sublime views of the mountains and a whole host of reasons to visit.

City Attractions

Goodland is quite tiny in size compared to other urban areas in Kansas, but don’t let this discourage you from leaving your campground and visiting town when you rent an RV near Goodland KOA. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, and historic buildings to see when you take a walk through downtown Goodland, and a few fun attractions to add to your list too. The High Plains Museum does a fantastic job representing the region and showcasing its fascinating history to all that enter. An array of antiques, artifacts, military costumes and regalia, and other informative displays can be viewed and enjoyed by adults and children alike at this interesting depository for historical items. The quirkiest attraction in Goodland is definitely the World’s Largest Easel, which displays a giant van Gogh painting. This massive replica of van Gogh's famous sunflower painting is especially fitting in the Sunflower State, where wide-open fields of the towering flowers are commonplace. If you still hunger for more sightseeing, head on down to Oakley, Kansas to see the Fick Fossil & History Museum. Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
