Hillsdale Campground

There’s nothing better than leaving everything behind for a bit and just sitting back, relaxing, and exploring new, exciting places, and that’s exactly what you can do when RV camping at Hillsdale Campground. Take some time just to recharge your batteries and take in the wonderful Kansas nature while the kids are having the time of their lives at the playground before slowly starting to prepare for tonight’s barbecue over an open flame that you can all sit down for at the picnic tables. Pets are welcome, and so are groups, so invite the whole neighborhood on your RV camping vacation if you want. Let them know that there are trails for both hiking and biking, and they’ll start their search for an RV rental in Miami County in no time.If you need to rent a big rig so that everyone will fit when camping at Hillsdale Campground, then that’s fine, because this campground has pull-through sites with full hookups at your service. You can also use the restrooms, have a refreshing shower, and do some laundry - yes, clothes get dirty when you’re on vacation too. The RV park also has a dump station, so no need to worry. How good is that?Another great thing about Hillsdale Campground camping is that you’ll be close to all sorts of exciting things and places, like the nearby town of Hillsdale, or the charming and eventful city of Spring Hill. You can also check out beautiful Louisburg and idyllic Paola, and if you’re in the mood for some noise and a faster pace, just head to Lawrence or Kansas City. If it’s the opposite that you want, there are loads of parks and forests, as well as rustic farms and pretty villages. If you want to play some golf, you can do that too.

The Great Outdoors

Since you’re actually staying in Hillsdale State Park itself, you’ll have front-row seats to all the natural beauty and amazing wildlife in this park. On the ground, you might spot a white-tailed deer, a quick little squirrel, or a fluffy rabbit, and if you turn your gaze upward, chances are you’ll see a bald eagle or a finch or two. The reservoir is great for fishing, and if you play your cards right, there’ll be crappie, bluegill, or largemouth bass for dinner. You can also hike Hidden Springs Trail, where you might see rock, minerals, and fossils. The time has come to hop into your Hillsdale camper rental and drive to Kill Creek Park and let the outdoor fun continue. You can do some more fishing (this time you might catch a rainbow trout), and there’s also boating on the menu here in this beautiful park. You can even go for a swim in the lovely, cool water, and there are many playgrounds and shelters for a relaxing picnic. Go running, hiking, or cycling on the many trails, or just sit down in the sun and watch the leafy trees and glimmering water.Anyone who decides to book an RV in Miami County and is passionate about both flora and fauna will be thrilled at the sight of Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. In this beautiful area, you have the chance to see over 1,700 species of plants and flowers in a variety of landscapes such as impeccable gardens, open prairie, and wild hiking trails. Go on a guided tour, or check out the Farmstead with its farm animals - if you want to see even more, stop by Cedar Cove Feline Conservatory & Education Center on your way back to your motorhome rental at Hillsdale Campground, where you can see tigers, leopards, and lions.

Exploring the Area

Head to Spring Hill if you’re looking for exciting activities and great adventures. Start at Spring Hill Aquatic Center where you can go on water slides, splash around in the water, or even learn to swim. Next up is the local escape house, where you can find Nana’s inheritance, locate evidence, or race against the clock to save your city. You’ll also be able to attend events here, such as the Fall Festival or the Family Luau.If you’re up for more festivities, steer your RV rental toward Louisburg and the Louisburg Cider Mill. Try the delicious cider, buy a jar or two of fruit butter, and get a couple of bottles of the old-fashioned root beer. Every year there’s the Ciderfest, and you’ll find many other events here as well, like movie nights. You can also be in town for the Louisburg Truck and Tractor Pull, or you can head to Paola for the Roots Festival and to visit the Miami County Museum. If you haven’t already, it’s definitely time to book an RV rental in Hillsdale right now, so you won’t miss out on all the fun and beauty in the area.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
