The Great Outdoors

This is the world’s longest known cave system and has been famously described as a “grand, gloomy, and peculiar place.” Guided and self-guided tours, ranger-led activities, and interpretive programming for all ages are available. Recreational activities include trails, biking, boating, and swimming. The Lodge at Mammoth Cave operates two seasonal restaurants - a café and ice cream parlor, and a fine dining establishment. There are also several picnic areas with tables and shelters in the park. The visitor center provides information and exhibits, restrooms, ranger talks and activities, a gift and souvenir shop, and public Wi-Fi.The action park in nearby Cave City is an excellent way to have a great time in the great outdoors, and it can be accessed easily when you're camping at Horse Cave KOA. The park features riding stables, miniature golf, an alpine slide, zip lines and a swinging bridge, a chairlift, bumper cars, bumper boats, go-karts, a trampoline, a climbing wall, tours, and other activities. There is fun for the whole family as many attractions are suitable for all ages. Enjoy the scenery as well as rides from mild to wild here. There’s something to suit everyone.Zipline canopy tours are a great way to see everything that there is to see here while you are staying at Horse Cave KOA. Extreme adventures include two zip line courses, an aerial challenge course, and a tower drop. More moderate activities include horseback riding. Tour guides are all trained and certified to ensure safety. There’s really no better way to see the area than from the air, and there are several different ways to touch the sky here at an adventure venue just outside a national park.

Exploring the Area

You will probably need to fill up your tank as well as your stomach, and there are numerous convenience stores, truck stops, and service stations in the area where you will be able to find either gasoline or diesel fuel easily.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
