Recreational opportunities in the forest include beaches and dunes, boating, tubing, windsurfing, biking, hiking, hunting, fishing, nature viewing, photography, and geocaching and letterboxing. There are also picnic areas with shelters, tables, grills, and restrooms. Educational programs on natural resources, stewardship, and conservation are held throughout the year.
