The Great Outdoors

From Pleasant Hill Campground, it's roughly a one-hour drive to Acadia National Park, which is one of the most exciting natural attractions in the United States and is not to be missed while visiting the area. The rocky coastline here makes for some of the most incredible views in New England, so be sure to bring your camera. There are hiking and biking trails throughout the park, catering to varying ability levels. If you want a challenge, be sure to hike Cadillac Mountain and take in the views, or if you want an easier hike, the Jordan Pond Nature Trail makes for a beautiful stroll. This is also a great place to see wildlife - there are many whale-watching tours in this area, and the park is a popular spot among bird watchers. The town of Bar Harbor is located just outside the park and is worth stopping by.Maine is full of beautiful lakes and ponds that are a must-visit if you enjoy water sports. While renting an RV near Bangor, you can take a road trip up to Moosehead Lake, which is one of the largest lakes in the area, or check out one of the many smaller lakes nearby, like Sebasticook Lake and Pushaw Lake. These are excellent places to rent a kayak or canoe, or try your hand at fishing and see what you can catch. When the weather gets warm, you can even dive in and go swimming. On Moosehead Lake, you can take a cruise on a steamship and take in the beauty of the area.There are also many parks and outdoor attractions close by when you book an RV in Penobscot County. The Bangor City Forest is a popular place for hiking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter, and there is also a boardwalk that allows you to explore the bog. This is one of many parks and nature preserves located along the Penobscot River, and they are perfect for a tranquil walk out in the beauty of nature. Cascade Park is located closer to the center of town and features trails as well as beautiful picnic areas.

Downtown Bangor has a charming waterfront atmosphere and is a popular summer destination for New England locals. The town is known for the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, which hosts the American Folk Festival in the summer as well as a variety of concerts and shows throughout the year. Be sure to check and see what's playing during your stay. The town has a funky, creative vibe, and there is an excellent selection of art galleries and small museums to explore there. You'll also find plenty of restaurants to choose from, ranging from upscale seafood restaurants to homey New American and Italian diners.Also in the area is the Hollywood Casino Hotel and Raceway, which is one of the largest casinos in New England. You can try your luck at one of their games or watch a horse race while visiting. The Bangor Mall is a short drive away as well, which has a huge selection of chain and local shops, popular restaurants, and a movie theater. In this area, you will also find supermarkets, pharmacies, auto repair shops, and any other essentials you might need. Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
