Explore the City

When you’re camping at Emmett KOA, there's a lot to explore beyond the great outdoors. Embark on a day trip to the shores of Lake Huron, across the border in Sarnia, Ontario. Peer into the past with some of the most interesting creatures of all time at Stones & Bones Museum. There you can find dinosaurs, fossils, and exhibits that include Native American dolls and a collection of gems and crystals. To keep it subterranean, head south to Utica, where you can check out the Reptarium for more lively exhibits. Here you can observe some pretty creepy creatures, amazing displays, and partake in seasonal events.If you like animals, you can view a variety of them at the Detroit Zoo near Royal Oak. Check out exciting areas like the Arctic Ring of Life, home to polar bears and seals. You can see a ton of other animals here with habitats that include African forests, African grasslands, Asian forests, and the Australian Outback Adventure. Other fantastic exhibits include the Butterfly Garden and the Great Apes of Harambee. For some interactive action, you can head over to amusement center in nearby Troy.
