Lake Gogebic Campground

The Lake Gogebic Campground is located within a state park that shares that same name. It sits on Lake Gogebic, which is situated in the west-central portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The campground is found around 40 miles east of the state border with Wisconsin, and around 30 miles south of the southern shore of one of the largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior. The small hamlet of Marenisco is the closest populated area to the campground, while the nearest real town is Ironwood, around 30 miles to the west. The nearest larger city is Green Bay, WI, at almost 200 miles to the south.There are numerous campsites available throughout the campground, some sit in the shaded woods, while others are right on the lakefront. Electric hookups are available for some of these, and bathrooms are offered for campers. There is also a playground for the kids. Camping with an RV near here makes it easy to reach all the attractions available nearby.This area is very rural, but there are gas stations and grocery stores found within 15 miles of the campground. You should be able to get any supplies you need at these locales. There are also a few restaurants that dot the local area if you find yourself hungry. With a stay at this family-friendly campground in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, you should have no trouble finding any services you may need.
