The Lake Gogebic Campground is located within a state park that shares that same name. It sits on Lake Gogebic, which is situated in the west-central portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The campground is found around 40 miles east of the state border with Wisconsin, and around 30 miles south of the southern shore of one of the largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior. The small hamlet of Marenisco is the closest populated area to the campground, while the nearest real town is Ironwood, around 30 miles to the west. The nearest larger city is Green Bay, WI, at almost 200 miles to the south.There are numerous campsites available throughout the campground, some sit in the shaded woods, while others are right on the lakefront. Electric hookups are available for some of these, and bathrooms are offered for campers. There is also a playground for the kids. Camping with an RV near here makes it easy to reach all the attractions available nearby.This area is very rural, but there are gas stations and grocery stores found within 15 miles of the campground. You should be able to get any supplies you need at these locales. There are also a few restaurants that dot the local area if you find yourself hungry. The Great Outdoors

The park offers all sorts of fun activities to engage in. There are trails for hiking and bike riding in the summer. These transition to cross-country ski or snowshoe trails during the lengthy winter season that is common in this part of the country. This is also a prime location for viewing wildlife, as well as the fall leaf colors the area is well-known for.There are plenty of fun things to do on Lake Gogebic, as well. A boardwalk and short hiking trail take visitors to a view of the site. The Agate Falls are in Marenisco. There is a picturesque bridge that can be seen over the falls, as well.

Here you can stroll through a restored village that used to support a copper mine in the late 1800s. The buildings can be viewed and toured, and the history of the local area is showcased. Tours are available of this working farm, by appointment only. Information on the llama species is provided, and some may be available for feeding or petting. This museum highlights the history of the many miners that helped to found the local area. It is housed in an old train depot and discusses how that and the local mining industry worked in conjunction with each other. This site is only open during the summer months. The Miners Memorial Heritage Park is located nearby, as well. Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
