The Great Outdoors

Royalton sits along the banks of the Platte River. The river was named by early French fur traders and means "flat and shallow." As such, the Platte is an excellent river for tubing. There are, however, a few Class I rapids to keep things mildly amusing. The river is also popular for fishing, and common catches include smallmouth bass, channel cats, walleye pike, and northern pike. Just be sure to bring bug spray as deer flies are abundant along the river. The Paul Bunyan State Trail stretches 115 miles from Crow Wing State Park to Lake Bemidji State Park. It's the largest continuously paved rail-trail in the nation. Most cities along the trail have a rich railroad and logging history. Along the trail, visitors will find many scenic areas, trailside amenities, and more. While we doubt you'll cover the entire 115 miles when you camp at Two Rivers Campground, it's a great way to get some exercise while seeing what the local area has to offer.Plant lovers can check out Minnesota Landscape Arboretum when they book an RV in Morrison County. A fun and peaceful way for the whole family to get into nature, the arboretum boasts interactive exhibits and informative touchscreen kiosks that teach all about the environment you're exploring. Outside the nature center, kids can let their imaginations run wild as they jump around on the natural-style play area. There's also an incredible sensory garden, which is excellent for young children as well as those with additional needs. You can choose from a guided, self-guided, or tram tour.

Exploring the City

Stearns History Museum in Saint Cloud boasts two floors of interactive exhibits. Perfect for visitors of all ages, you'll learn about the area's diverse history and culture. Situated on 80 scenic acres, various artifacts and displays shed light on the area, people, and events that helped form the region to be what it is today. Be sure to check it out when you camp in an RV near Royalton. In Little Falls, you can learn about the role that fishing has played in the lives of locals at the Minnesota Fishing Museum and Hall of Fame. With more than 10,000 artifacts all related to fishing, you'll get the opportunity to see why fishing truly is so important to Minnesotans. From Native Americans to the early settlers, fishing has played an integral role in the lives of almost all residents. In fact, the state has more than four million acres of water and 18,000 miles of rivers, streams, and waterways. Minnesota is even known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Whether you enjoy fishing or just want to learn more about the state, a trip to the Minnesota Fishing Museum is sure to please. For something a bit more heart-pounding, there's Paul Bunyan Land in Brainerd, Minnesota. The theme park, which has been around since 1954, has rides the entire family can enjoy. Go for a spin on the carousel, or get a bird's-eye view aboard the Ferris wheel. If you're seeking more of a thrill, then perhaps the rollercoaster or the spooky Ghost Mine will do the trick. And after you've had your fill of rides, you can check out Pioneer Village. Here, you'll get a glimpse into what life was like centuries ago. Explore an old schoolhouse, post office, candy shop, and even a small log home. It's a great way to learn about local history in a hands-on and interactive way. If you like animals, you can also check out Paul's Petting Barn. No matter what you choose to do while here, it's a great place for the entire family when you rent a camper near Two Rivers Campground.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
