Discover Kearney RV Park & Campground

The Kearney RV Park and Campground is located in the small town of Kearney in the plains of Nebraska. Kearney is located along the Platte River and is a two-hour drive from the larger town of Lincoln. It is also within a reasonable driving distance of Omaha, which is Nebraska's largest city. This is one of the only places to go RV camping in the area that offers a full-service campground experience. The campground is open year-round and in proximity to the town as well as many natural attractions nearby.

RV camping at Kearney RV Park and Campground offers an excellent range of amenities. The RV park features large 100-foot-long sites that support vehicles of all sizes. Water, sewer, and electrical hookups are available at every site, and service is 20/30/50 amp. There are laundry and shower facilities for your comfort, and there is also a community room with a kitchen for added convenience. WiFi is also available, making it easy to stay connected while you're RV camping at Kearney RV Park and Campground. The RV park is divided into two sections, one of which has a lake where you can enjoy fishing and swimming. Interstate access is close by, making it easy to travel throughout the area with your Kearney motorhome rental.

The Great Outdoors

The town of Kearney is a perfect example of how beautiful the American Great Plains region can be, with gently rolling plains, rivers, and lakes. One of the most popular outdoor attractions in the area is Yanney Park. This park is located just outside the center of town and has plenty to do. There is a lake in the center of the park, and boat rentals are available. There are also nature trails that are ideal for a gentle walk. If you are camping in an RV with kids, there are play areas here that will keep them entertained.

Although Nebraska is technically landlocked, there are still plenty of fishing spots you can check out when you book an RV in Buffalo County. There is a place to fish within the Kearney RV Park and Campground, and you can also go fishing in Yanney Park's lake. Another great place to fish in town is Cottonmill Park. This park offers excellent largemouth bass fishing, and you can also rent a kayak or canoe there. These fishing areas are surrounded by beautiful greenery and make for a very pleasant place to spend time.

While Kearney is not particularly hilly, there are still plenty of nature trails in the area that are excellent for hiking and for biking. One of the longest trails connects Cottonmill Park with Fort Kearney State Recreation Area, which is a reconstructed fort from the 19th century. The fort was initially built as an outpost along the Oregon Trail, but now there is a large recreation area there located along the Platte River.

Exploring The Area

Although Kearney is a small town, there's plenty to do in the area, particularly if you're RV camping with kids or a large group. The parks and green spaces throughout the town mean there's always a place for kids to play, and there is a local children's museum too. There are several other museums in Kearney that are of interest and are worth visiting on rainy days. One of the most interesting is the MONA, also known as the Museum of Nebraska Art. It's set in a historic building in the center of town and features local Nebraska artists.

Another fun museum worth visiting while you're here is the Classic Car Collection. If you're an auto buff, you'll enjoy this attraction as it features over 200 cars and a 1950's-style gas station. A key monument you should visit while you're in the area is the Archway. This monument spans I-80 and celebrates the area's role in the expansion of the United States.

There are lots of excellent restaurants in Kearney where you can grab a bite after a long day of traveling and exploring the surrounding terrain. Burgers and American food are particularly popular, but there is a variety of different options to suit your taste buds. The University of Nebraska has a campus in Kearney, which attracts a large array of businesses to the area. You'll find that cuisines like Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, and Thai are all available here. There are also multiple supermarkets in town, so you can pick up essentials to take back to your camper rental at Kearney RV Park and Campground. Right outside of the campground, you'll also find a gas station where you can refuel.
