Annual events such as the Grow Show, the Harvest Festival, Plant Sales, the Holiday Marketplace, and the Fête des Fleurs Garden Party are held at the garden each year. Come check out one of the oldest botanical gardens in the Northeast when you camp at Woodland Hills Campground.When you book an RV in Columbia County, be sure to check out Beebe Hill State Forest in Austerlitz, New York. The 2,018-acre forest combines with the Harvey Mountain State Forest and provides opportunities for recreation, wildlife viewing, timber production, and more. Explore over 30 miles of multi-purpose trails, or get on the water at Barrett Pond. Go fishing in one of several bodies of water in the forests, and see if you can catch black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, rock bass, yellow perch, and more. Also, be sure to check out the fire tower. It’s open to the public and provides awesome views from the top.Lake Taghkanic State Park in Ancram, New York, is just 30 minutes' drive away when you’re camping at Woodland Hills Campground. The 1,569-acre state park is situated next to Lake Taghkanic in the rolling hills and lush forests of Columbia County. It’s a great place for those seeking to enjoy all sorts of outdoor recreational pursuits. The park has hiking, swimming, fishing, hunting, biking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobile trails. When conditions permit, ice skating and ice fishing are also popular activities. There’s also a campground that can accommodate your RV rental, should you decide to stay there for a night or two.

The Norman Rockwell Museum is an awesome place to check out when you rent a camper near Woodland Hills Campground. The museum is home to the world’s largest and most significant collection of Norman Rockwell’s art. Seeking to present and preserve the art of this iconic artist, the museum was founded in 1969 with the help of Rockwell’s family. Inside, you’ll find over 998 original paintings and drawings. On the grounds of the museum is Rockwell’s Stockbridge Studio, which was moved to the museum's grounds a few years after his death. The work of other popular artists can be appreciated at the museum as well.If you’re looking for something a bit more thrilling, Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts, is sure to deliver. The popular theme park has something entertaining and exciting for people of all ages. Adrenaline junkies can get their hearts pounding on one of the thrilling loop coasters while the younger crowd might prefer the kiddie rides. If you’re visiting with the whole family, there are family-friendly rides, too. After a long day of thrill-seeking, settle down at one of the park’s restaurants or cafes and grab a bite to eat.The Martin Van Buren National Historic Site in Kinderhook, New York is just 20 miles south of Albany and the former home of the eighth president of the United States of America. Van Buren served between 1837 and 1841 and sought to unite representatives of the North and the South before the Civil War. He failed. Nevertheless, he remains an influential figure in our nation’s history. Today, visitors to the historic site can explore the grounds via hiking trails that wind through beautiful scenery and tell tales of the area’s interesting history. There are also planned events and seasonal activities.
