Charles Mill Lake Park is located on the shore of Charles Mill Lake in the city of Mansfield, Ohio. It is located halfway between Cleveland and Columbus and offers access to water and natural areas. When RV camping here, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets on the beach, swimming, fishing, boating, and so much more. There are many hiking and biking trails and beautiful picnicking areas around the lake.The Charles Mill Lake Park campground is in a natural setting and offers big rig access, tent camping sites, a dump station, and electric and water hookups. While camping at Charles Mill Lake Park, you can also take advantage of clean restrooms and showers, WiFi, and a pet area. The campground is family-friendly, with a lot of space for kids to play. There is a playground, a swimming pool, and natural areas too. Each campsite at Charles Mill Lake Park has a scenic view of the lake, a picnic table, and a fire ring. The park has picnicking pavilions as well, where bigger groups can organize events and activities.This park is ideal for nature lovers who prefer a relaxing and quiet environment by the water. Fishing is one of the most popular activities here, and you can catch largemouth bass, saugeye, channel catfish, flathead catfish, crappie, sunfish, and more. The Great Outdoors

Malabar Farm State Park is only about 15 minutes' drive south of the Charles Mill Lake Park campground. It is located near Pleasant Hill Lake, and also has other ponds and creeks nearby where you can enjoy fishing. When visiting the park, you can also tour a farm and see domestic animals like goats, chicken, and cattle. The park offers educational tours, camping and picnicking areas, and day-use facilities. There are several scenic hiking trails you can enjoy, including the Doris Duke Woods Trail, the Jungle Book Trail, and the Butternut Trail. There is also the seven-mile Pleasant Valley bridle trail available for horseback riding.Mohican-Memorial State Forest is approximately half an hour's drive south of the campsites at Charles Mill Lake Park. The historical park has many opportunities for outdoor recreation, including hunting, horseback riding, hiking, biking, and wildlife watching. Many scenic hiking and biking trails run through the park, and bridle and snowmobiling trails are available depending on weather conditions. In the wintertime, you can enjoy snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and other winter sports. Animals to spot here include white-tailed deer, raccoons, coyotes, and wild turkeys.Ohio is a popular winter sports destination, and if you rent an RV near Mansfield during the colder months, you can visit the area's ski hills and trails. Enjoy cross-country skiing, sledding, snowboarding, and so much more. There are beginner and advanced trails you can use, and you can also learn how to ski if it's your first time on the slopes. Snow tubing and snowshoeing are also favorite pastimes.

When you are RV camping in Richland County, you can enjoy natural areas year-round. But there are also lots of cultural attractions to see while you're here. The Ohio State Reformatory is a castle-like structure where some of the world’s most infamous prisoners served their sentences. Tour this impressive architectural establishment and learn the stories of the prison. Tour themes include The Shawshank Trail, based on the movie, Escape from Blood Prison, Private Paranormal Investigation, and more.The Oak Hill Cottage / Richland County Historical Society is located in a gorgeous Gothic Revival-style house. The 19th-century house was highlighted in Louis Bromfield’s first novel, The Green Bay Tree. Built in 1847 by John Riley Robinson, the house represents one of the most beautifully decorated houses of this style preserved in the United States. You can join small or large group tours and see the inside of the house, filled with old photographs, furniture, and other historical artifacts.If you've got kids along for the Mansfield motorhome rental vacation, you can visit Little Buckeye Children's Museum. This interactive museum has over 40 hands-on exhibits perfect for kids 2 to 10 years old. Exhibits you can see here include Hot Wheels, Mr. Potato Head, Gravitron, Auto Mechanics, and more.The city of Mansfield has a variety of city conveniences, with lots of grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations to choose from. Fast-food venues, pizza eateries, and American, Chinese, Greek, and Italian cuisines are just a few of the options available.

What type of RV should I choose?

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
