The Great Outdoors

You’ll be close to the Little Portage River Wildlife Area when you rent a camper near the Tall Timber Campground and Resort. This special 407-acre area sits at the convergence of the Portage and Little Portage rivers. It is a river marsh that is primarily wetlands; 80 acres are maintained as meadow and brushland. Wildlife here includes puddle ducks, muskrat, woodcocks, mourning doves, waterfowl, songbirds, and more. There are hiking trails and a boat launch. Other recreational opportunities include fishing, hunting, trapping, wildlife viewing, and nature photography.The African Safari Wildlife Park is also well worth a visit when you camp in an RV near Port Clinton. Some of the animals who live here include elk, giraffes, llamas, zebras, bison and white bison, camels, alpacas, warthogs, tortoises, alligators, and gibbons. Drive-through and walk-through safari tours are offered. Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
