Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA

When camping at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA, Lake Texoma State Park in Kingston is sure to be a hit among anglers and boaters. Home to Oklahoma’s second-largest lake and a hot spot in the southwest for striped bass, the state park has a full-service marina and guide fishing services. In addition to boating, fishing, and watersports, the park offers swimming, hiking, picnicking, and opportunities for wildlife viewing. There’s also a modern campground that can accommodate your RV rental should you want to explore the park for more than a day. Cross the state line into Denison, Texas (only a 30-minute drive) and visit Eisenhower State Park. Situated on the shores of Lake Texoma, you can explore over four miles of hiking trails on high bluffs, splash around in the sandy swimming cove, or fish for crappie, striped bass, and catfish. The park is also popular for bouldering, off-roading, and camping. Another fun and informative indoor/outdoor thing to do in when you book an RV in Bryan County is visiting Fort Washita Historic Site. The fort was built in 1842 as the southwestern-most military post in the United States. The purpose of the fort was to protect the Chickasaw and Choctaw tribes. The fort operated for a decade and today is a historic site and museum that allows visitors to learn about what life was like before and during the Civil War. In Durant, visitors to the campus can tour restored structures, see reenactments of the Civil War, and take part in the yearly Fur Trade Era Rendezvous. The historical site also hosts special events throughout the year, including outdoor movies, storytelling, and seasonal events.
