Pick-up and drop-off was very smooth. Darrell was very accommodating to our morning pick-up request. He was very friendly while giving us the tour and tips on handling the RV. There were a couple of minor issues that did pop up along the trip, but we were able to maintain contact with Darrell, so these issues did not diminish our experience. If anything, his availability was what kept us from over-worrying. I wouldn't mind being a repeat customer.

Darrell’s answer

Thanks Geraldo for your kind words!

Darrell was helpful and friendly. He carefully explained everything we needed to know. The RV was well maintained and spacious. Our trip was amazing! Thanks for sharing your RV!

All went well. The RV was clean and had no issues. Darrell was very nice and pick up and drop off was super easy.

DO NOT RENT this vehicle or deal with Darrell. I never write reviews, and certainly never a negative one...but fair warning is needed here. We are a family of 4, and recently set out on a 13-day adventure. Darrell was pleasant and responsive for the first 10 days (which were wonderful), however on Day 11 the engine failed ("seized" according to Roadside Assistance mechanic, who also indicated the vehicle had not been well maintained re: transmission fluid, oil changes, etc.) and we were stranded at a campsite in Provo, UT. At this point, communication with Darrell went downhill. We were transitioning all of our stuff (13-day trip for 2 adults and 2 kids) from a large RV to a rental car and he was inconsiderate at best about us having to leave a few items in the locked storage compartment. Fortunately, Outdoorsy's Roadside Assistance team was very supportive and available throughout. But once we finally returned from a trip cut short by 3 days, Darrell stopped communicating with us. We requested reimbursement for our car rental (which he said he'd pay for while I was seeking out rentals), 3 days completely lost on our pre-paid booking (why should we pay for 3 days we didn't have the RV b/c it broke down?), and a campsite reservation forfeiture since we were stuck. Now, we are forced to enter a Dispute process through Outdoorsy to try to recover lost expenses. Also, we had to leave items (including a mountain bike) in his RV, and we still have some of his items (removed cooking ware, dishes, bedding etc. prior to trip due to COVID-19 and just cleanliness issues).
How will we exchange all this when he won't even communicate? Even Outdoorsy reps seemed surprised at his non-responsiveness. Look, we understand engines break down (although the vehicle was given to us with the "Check Engine" light on, to which Darrell said before our trip it was a non-issue and likely just a gas cap malfunction). But to be treated this way in a time of stress, on what was a vacation, is unacceptable and I would never wish this upon any future renters. Save yourselves, look elsewhere. The "unlimited mileage" is enticing, but trust me, not worth the risk.

It was our first experience to drive RV and Darrell helped to make it very pleasurable. He was very helpful, accommodating, and easy to talk to. We had no issues with the RV. It was a beautiful experience driving along the California coast. Highly recommend.
