The Dunagan Visitor Center offers information and exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the park area as well as its plants and animals. Recreational opportunities include hiking and horseback riding. Sand disks are available for rent. Ranger-led programs for all ages are offered throughout the year.Franklin Mountains State Park is also well worth a visit when you camp in an RV near Odessa. You can explore the mountains and mountaintop views. There are almost 100 miles of trails here. Guided hiking and biking tours are available. Climbing is permitted at McKelligon Canyon or Sneed’s Cory. Other recreational activities include geocaching, picnicking, bird watching, and nature observation.
